  1. That Adventurers LP grows on trees, that should be an easy one. Good LP for what it is too.
  2. ha ha, i was always wondered if the Bunny Sigler was the only LP with that label, looks like it. There may be 2 Sigler 45s with that label but I don't recall seeing anything by other artists. It's possible though, anyone?
  3. I like to play this one out at the moment actually. The US press on Dynamo is pretty easy & cheap to find. Good stuff.
  4. yeah, it's their first (i think) MGM dist. label. not used for very many releases.
  5. I use Technics 1200's & 1210's in the two main record listening rooms. I also have a belt drive Technics 210 or 230 (can't remember which) in another room. They are all good. If you get a 1200 series turntable just for home use it will probably provide trouble free play for generations.
  6. They are both around the $50 US mark.
  7. Maybe a bit of a push to call that a Stax doco though. Respect Yourself comes to mind more as a doco about Stax & I thought you meant to say that but were getting your soul films confused. Carry on.
  8. are you sure?
  9. I think that's a vastly inflated Manship listing pricewise. Still a great LP (mine is WLP also), but I don't know if it's that hard to get? One that's been on my want list for a while is the Lee Moses 45 on Lee John, not super rare but I always get outbid on ebay, & frustratingly found it on Gemm a while back only to be told it was no longer in stock by the seller.
  10. This is great, I love it. For me it's what soul music should be like.
  11. whoa, i can see i'm gonna have fun checking out all those interviews, thanks for the heads up.
  12. So out of the 500 pressed there is definitely 3 because one turned up on a online mix by some funk DJ a few years back, there is one that has been reviewed online & the one copy that you've had. Any others??
  13. The Intentions on Tiki? Never turns up, mythically rare??
  14. Isn't almost all of Craig's stuff BIN anyway? I always though the standard auction format was out of the norm for him?

I've never seen it in light blue!! Didn't know that existed at all.

I have tried all sorts to remove cover up labels & have never been satisfied with the end result. Any sort of "de'gummer" solution has either taken the original label with it or ruined the colouring of the original, peeling has either torn the original or left a tacky residue, I hate it. I choose to just leave them be now.
  17. ?????????????????????????????????

I can't believe people are paying for the 4 Seasons 45 these days, I had a pressing plant box of issues a couple of years ago, couldn't give them away & ended up binning them to get them out of my house. I like the Timebox 45 better but don't own it so the 4 Seasons one will have to do for now. The 4 Seasons version should be the same as the Frankie Valli version (although I've not seen a solo Frankie Valli version of Beggin' on 45 so maybe someone is confused). Good song, I didn't know someone had remade it.
  19. This is getting stupid. Has anyone actually talked to Kenny & can confirm that he has said the copy is or isn't his? Tell the truth & quit baiting everyone. Someone just tell me, I'm not gonna bother buying some magazine from Manship to get the full story. All this crap about "I talked to Kenny, it's not his" vs "ooh but I talked to him & it is" just make up your friggin minds & post if it's one of the 2 known copies, one of Berry Gordy's speculative 3rd & 4th copies or a previously unknown 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th/box of 150. I am losing sleep over this people.........!!??
  20. Ha ha, I just showed this thread to my partner, she was in the German scooter/soul/mod scene around that time & knows the "Northern Soul Family" & "Heide Heizer" as well as Melly, Ollie etc. She has lived down here in New Zealand for the last 10+ years & the mention of all this made her smile. She still rides scooters all the time & we have 3 Vespas in the garage.
  21. Yeah, I'm real interested to see if it is one of the 2 UK copies going up for sale, although it doesn't really sound like it from the thread. I can't imagine Berry Gordy selling his supposed copy unless he was dying or real short on cash (neither of which are the case I'd imagine) especially since he is apparently still buying pieces he doesn't have in his collection (although that comment would suggest a flaw in the theory that Berry kept a copy of everything). I'm leaning towards the idea that there may be at least 4 copies out there & this one coming up for auction could possible be the previously unknown 4th copy. The plot thickens.
  22. Really, where is the documentation?
  23. Maybe it will be a 4th copy if indeed Berry Gordy now has Billie Jean Brown's copy.
  24. Here's a couple I had saved close by, not blue ones though.
