True, but the thread has now become a platform for any white (ish) artist who had a record played on the scene. Reminiscing, IN MOST CASES........ Another example..A very good pop/soul group! Ed

JM Recent Auction Discussion (split from comedy sales topic)
The topic is about whether people like JM should sell anything perceived as racist or other hateful material. You would assume no is the common answer, since one of the attributes of this 'soul scene' is to welcome all like minded folks regardless of colour, creed, origin etc. Ed

JM Recent Auction Discussion (split from comedy sales topic)
You must be deluded. Black Power, White Power, Religious Power, Ethnic Power, in fact any group who advocate hate of another group are all bad imo. Luckily most folks just want to live and let live. Ed

Should anybody buy or sell perceived racist material? James Coit? The checkmates Ltd? Black power movement? Obviously a market for all kinds of stuff like this. Ed

Wigans Chosen Few Footsie BBC Totp 1975
The problem is everybody who was into the scene, but did not go to Wigan, could easily be fooled into this was a typical Wigan sound, and hence the tarnished reputation it had for playing more tailor made than anywhere else. The dancers are great, and on my few trips to Wigan, it was no different to any other nighter apart from being bigger. 14 to 17 year olds never really cared about the quality of music, it just had to be danceable I guess, the older you got the more bothered you were about what was being played. You see the same exuberance in the film trailers over the last few years about the scene. Happy days I guess. Ed
