  1. Just saw CC perform in Detroit. Whole host of options, but this performance is really nice. Ed

I guess the real test would be you could not tell the difference what colour the singer was simply by hearing the track, but then find out it was by a white artist. Loads of examples already listed of course. I definitely thought Chris / Connie was a black singer on hearing this Ed
  3. He showed up at the LA 2004 event and mingled with the crowd. He produced Wash and Wear love of course. His brother Len was the voice in the Mylestones Joker. I'm sure more trivia will be forthcoming! Maybe you could clarify what you are looking for specifically. Ed
  4. Turtle beach Sarasota tonight.. Ed
  5. Sounds like a real geezer, the promoter:) Ed
  6. Just bought the dvd... Need to work on my timing:) Ed
  7. I just don't know how this track can be bettered. Up there with Linda Jones.

Gloria Jones IS really gifted. Just look at the songs she wrote under L Ware.... No one could love you more for example, for Gladys Knight... Ed

Is this Gloria and the Tiaras the same as recorded on Betty? Ed
  11. And very famous Al Foster is, but his name was simply hijacked I think. Maybe like Al Wilson of the 'help me' wand fame........not the same as old 'snake eyes'. Ed
  12. Jan Long version demo...and pye UK demo
  13. I'm claiming double bubble......... Ed
  14. Just read this. Motown Museum extends its condolences to the family and friends of Warren “Pete” Moore, original member of The Miracles, who passed away Sunday, November 19, 2017. Not only was Pete a singer, but he was also a prolific songwriter, vocal arranger and producer. Pete co-wrote several of The Miracles hits including "Ooo Baby Baby,” “The Tracks of My Tears,” “My Girl Has Gone,” “Going to a Go-Go,” "Love Machine" and others. For more information, click HERE. Ed

    Great memories....... Ed
  17. Rip A classy guy!
  18. Even middle age outsiders (here to stay) now seeking refuge and a social life in northern Soul ............ There is a good number of them! BUT maybe most are just spouses putting up with it:) The question is, what else is there? Rock n Rollers faced the same dilemma, but they carry on until they drop. All you can do is say 'it will never be over for me' and let others worry if it's the same for them. Just back from SOUL IN THE SUN...........and the sixty somethings are still going at full on. If they need a stick in 10 years time, I don't think it will stop them. Ed
  19. Not talking about NOTW, talking about 'COSMIC SEA' Where was that played first and when? Must have been as a new release, that's why I'm guessing at the Mecca. Ed
  20. I started going to nighters in 76. Al Foster had been and gone by then, but I did hear it at youth club nights earlier than that, probably played by older youths etc. Cosmic Sea is unknown to me now, so certainly was then. Was it a mecca track? Ed
  21. Great alt version! Also never heard it. Ed
  22. Maybe it should be renamed the secret world of Northern soul... 4 years and no announcement...amazing. Ed
  23. How long has the current owner had the test pressing? Ed
