Dancing shoes
Something light with a leather sole ... used to take ages to teach a new pair all the steps again 😉

1k really?
Odd that the dealer makes a big play of it being a demo, I am thinking that the issue is rarer

Eddie Szwarc (Swoz) RIP
Sad to report the passing of another Wolverhampton soul boy, Eddie Szwarc or as he was better known Swoz. He had been a friend of my wife since she was in her teens, and of mine for the past 25 years, we were both in shock to learn of his sudden passing. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time RIP Swoz Martyn & Carol x

Four Voices and Carol Anderson on ebay
That Carol Anderson is a great double sider, don’t remember seeing many in boxes through the 90’s but that is an awful lot of money to pay for one.

Sad news indeed Mick, Smokey was a genuinely larger than life character who will be missed. Our deepest sympathies to his family and friends. Martyn & Carol x

Your most loved "double sider" 7s
In general any Fontella Bass record, or any Fred Hughes record will be two good sides, and used to be affordable except "I keep trying on Exodus" which has spiralled in price in recent years.

- Stafford Rangers Soul Night - Guest DJ SPIV
This was in a different room to the last one I attended, which held some memories of several old friends sadly no longer with us, they would have enjoyed the night I am sure. We had a great time, it was refreshing to hear some different tunes for a change, all the DJ's did a cracking job, and despite having a crocked ankle, calf muscle and knees I was tempted onto the dance floor a number of times, something I regretted on Sunday. All in all well worth the £5 entrance fee, this is a lovely venue, cracking dance floor, reasonable bar prices, and they have finally got around to tarmacing the car park since my last visit, I am looking forward to returning and will certainly keep an eye out for when it is on again ... unfortunately we are away for the next one in November, which is a shame as I see they have Simon Hunt as the guest.- 2 comments

- Shute. Rest in Peace
That is sad news Steve, lovely bloke always a pleasure to be in his company. Condolences to his family and friends RIP Shute Martyn & Carol x- Smokie aka Ste stokes
He was out a couple of Saturdays back at a local night, he was struggling and it was sad to see him like that, a true character of the soul scene with some right tales to tell.- Show us your great photos 2021
- Manship’s copy of Cecil Washington on Prophonics
I had got a few quid out of a divorce and set aside £500 to buy a couple of records that I would not normally spend out on - my money bought me Cecil Washington, Carol Anderson (Whip) plus with what was left a Dynamics issue I need your love and Jimmy Fraser issue of hopes and dreams, the last two were £40 each. Within about 12 months I had traded the Jimmy Fraser for Strange Neighbourhood as JF was getting hammered everywhere and The Imaginations was the better record.- Manship’s copy of Cecil Washington on Prophonics
I bought this and Carol Anderson (on Whip) from the same guy at Tony's around 94 / 95, I gave him £400 for the two. I have seen more copies of the Cecil Washington than the Carol Anderson in sales boxes over the years. With regard to value I would have it pegged at £3K max- Manship’s copy of Cecil Washington on Prophonics
I have played that out a couple of times, usually get asked what it was.- Tony Foden. R.I.P
Tony was a kind and gentle person always a pleasure to be with, this came as a great shock yesterday, he was really close with Carol, I know this has really upset her, it was only last Saturday she sang happy birthday to him (on your phone I think Stevie) when we were at Culcheth. He will be sadly missed, especially by his close friends Rest easy Tony Love Martyn & Carol x - Your most loved "double sider" 7s
