  1. I had the first batch of 3 found about 18 months ago, cut Shifty in on the deal cause it was all going on while i was about to get married/go on honeymoon etc. There was another one that was badly warped, we tried to get it straightened but had no luck. I was offered the vg one a few weeks ago but suggested the guy put it on ebay. I`m not sure if there are any more found, I`ll ask the question and get back. Never kept a copy for myself, strange cause i always loved the record. I was maybe planning to keep the warped one if it straightened out ok.....just my luck! Chris
  2. PM me... Thanks, Chris
  3. Not always the case though mate...look at our fantastic "Dab of soul" flyers i just got back from the printers today...and the event is as good as the flyers too...!! Chris
  4. Rob, Really funny you saying that because i just found a few of my old Bretby flyers from the first year and they are really basic, A4 photo copied jobs from 1991, still had a few of them framed and put around the record room. As you know Bretby in the early 90s was one of the places to be.....but the flyers look crap! In another frame i have flyers for 4 events i have Dj`d at in the last couple of years and the flyers look the business......... Chris
  5. Does anybody know who I sold a record to, by Sonny Turner, on a white Musicor demo ?? It would have been about 2005. Maybe 2004. ............ Ian the Sonny Turner record i assume is "Now that she`s gone"? This is a really hard record to find...only seen one other since i picked mine up in Detroit about 6 years ago. Nobody knows it but whenever i play it to anybody it goes straight onto their wants list. No wonder you want it back...one that will go to the grave with me. Chris.

  10. At our wedding 18 months ago, we had Ben E King "Smooth sailing". the Ultimates "Girl I`ve been trying to tell you and Stevie "A ribbon in the sky" played while we signed the register...was an amazing day...... Chris
  11. I dont like the new display method. Quite simply the more bumps my list gets ie the nearer it gets to the top of the page, then the more records i sell, everyones a winner, me and the buyers. You have to remember a lot of people dont live on here like some people and may only visit once or twice a week and may only look at the first page. What might help is to stop the people replying "PM`d you". Which is a total waste of time becuse the PMs come on screen as soon as we log on therefore we see them before we see the posts! We all know which threads we have read and which we have`nt, just leave it as it is. Now, organise the events talk thread in this way....I`d support that one! Chris

Sorry to bring up this old topic but i have just been offered the Right on version from a guy in the States... So, I have heard both versions, think i prefer the Dove version to be honest. What would be a fair value on the Right on version...? I might have to play it on minus 4!! Chris. ps, The Right on version is growing on me!

  20. I will update the list later tonight
  21. Not heard Dianas version but it would be a case on improving on perfection to be better than the Temps "Get ready" and the Tops "Shake me wake me".....two of the best tunes ever IMHO. Chris
  22. I know that Berry Gordy still buys motown stuff for his collection so he must have the other copy by now. When Candy Kay (of Motorcity records) sold up some men in suites arrived from LA to buy on "somebodys" behalf but she was`nt allowed to say who. Candy had one of, if not the best Motown collection anywhere. Whereas Ron collected 45s only Candy collected the whole lot,45s, Lps, acetates,EPs, foriegn stuff etc She never had a Frank Wilson though. Talking to Candy about Motown was an education...she talks in numbers rather than artists and titles, her knowledge is amazing! Chris
  23. will update tomorrow...still some good tunes left
  24. top tunes still to go.......
