  1. This style of clothing ( for those of us old enough to remember ) is of course the Mod Look from the mid sixties. Ben sherman shirts were a copy of "Brooks brothers" shirts but with a tailored or waisted look. Proper or vintage denim Jeans & jackets, are still available on the Internet. Nowadays most people dont care about "Cone 501 or 818 Jelt" denim, but the ones whoe still persue such clothes & styles pay top prices to secure the desired items. So its not just rare sixties sounds some of us are after. The clothes a styles are part of our heritage as well. Regards Ritchie.
  2. Cracking Crossover ...............I think its on Judnell, not South Camp. regards Ritchie.
  3. Please state the Maximum prices you are willing to pay for each item. Regards Ritchie.
  4. Can remember Bob with the Magnetics, and an episode when Colin Curtis came from Stoke especially to buy one. There's an old saying regarding Purchases : Some people know the Price of everything but the value of Nothing !!!!!. Regards Ritchie
  5. Helllo Mark, Just had a look @ your Top 5.... Chicago & Detroit with a Newark New Jersey. Also its coming up for a year (this Saturday) since you did the "two Cities of Northern Soul" at Sheridans. Although the turn out was a little dissapointing, the records played that night were AWESOME, as was the set up between the rooms. I loved that place, whatever promoter was running it on the night. Does anybody know whats happened there ? apart from an attempted murder outside there around Christmas time!!. Regards Ritchie.
  6. Here's my Top 5. Not in any particular order, bur all L.A. tunes. 1) Virginia Blakly - let nobody love you - Mojo. 2) The Oracles - Ain't got time - OM. 3) Ty Karim - lighten up baby - Car-a -mel. 4) The Groovettes - Think it over baby - Reness. 5) Pamela Beaty - Talkin' eyes - Tip. Regards Ritchie.
  7. Rod's been into the "Scene" from the very beginning (as I have) and years ago, US dealers couldn't wait to offload some of their stuff on Uk based collectors. Then over time the Rarity of some of these records became apparent, and slowly but sureley, the realisation kicked in that an aspect of Americas "Music heritage", had been sold mostly far too cheaply abroad. Nowadays people Stateside have wised up to whats happening, but the majority of Black Americans still have no idea of the rich tapestry of Collectable rare soul records, they have supplied to Great Britian. One mans leftovers etc.......... Best regards Ritchie.
  8. Mark, I still think its disco-ish (L-R ....... but hey its 2006 now. Best regards Ritchie
  9. I much prefer Dolly Gilmore to La-rom Baker both price wise & record wise. Saying that however both tunes are excellent. Also I think its a case of Crossover the final frontier for some, as there's more "grey areas" regarding defining prices with some of the rarer Crossover tunes. Regards Ritchie.
  10. Come Go with Me. Originally recorded by the Del Vikings? then Re-hashed by Edd Cobb & re-recorded by Gloria Jones to become a "Northern Classic". Regards Ritchie. :good:

  15. Personally I've only ever seen one copy of this record, and at that time it was owned by Alf Billingham, who got it of Dave Godin. Since there's no doubt is reputed to have the same backing track as the Total Eclipses "You took a heart". The record was to be the next release on Dave's Soul City label but never came out as the label folded. Regards Ritchie.
  16. Oh no she doesn't he's in the Iron & Steel business. She does the ironing.................and he does the Stealing (on e-bay) Regards Ritchie.

Yes the boxes he sells are pricey, but are also of a very high quality & are designed to be very secure. Its all down to how much you value "whats in the box". regards Ritchie
  18. In about 1971 Colin & Pat Swallow had just re - vamped the Palace hotel disco. They then had a competition to re name it, by asking the "punters". In orbit Joy lovejoy was first taken there by Nick Lyde. He bought it from "Mad Max" @ the Catacoombs in Wolverhampton in 1970, and used to borrow it to Pat & Colin to play. Because of its popularity there somebody suggested that name for the disco. Nick lives in Scotland now, I have'nt heard from him for a few years now. Regards Ritchie.

Ritchie, do you have two usernames on this site ? Or did you just hijack another users thread ? Lars, In my haste to "post" I inadvertently taged it on to someones original posting. i was expecting it to be moved, so far it has'nt been. At 12-45 Pm today things got a lot worse (for me), as we all had 90 days notice @ work. I was aware of my folly but at this moment in time i have other "Fish to Fry" Regards Ritchie (give us a Job) Andrew.
