Crossover Soul
Well I see we have all the usual self opinionated, miss informed "Crossover Haters" out in force again, venting their anger on anybody that dares to like anything different to them. Crossover is a very poor descriptive term for Soul music, that was produced in the late sixties, that then "crossed over" to the earlier seventies and beyond, as the sound moved away from the 4 X 4 dance beat to a more sophisticated beat, helped by the better technologies regarding production techniques. I think Brett has put the case into perspective in an earlier thread, regarding some of the top Northern DJ's also having many "Crossover' type records in their boxes, perhaps they've realised its not 1966 anymore ! Regards To ALL soul fans Ricardo.

There's one one E-Bay now............item No 190501570726. Regards Ritchie.

Mel Britt
More like 500 upwards, It's rarity is due to demand rather than copies available. I remember John Anderson at a Whitchurch Alldayer, had more than a few of them, when it first started to get played. Fabulous record though. Rgeards Ricardo.

Troggs Allnighter What Happened, Who Shot Who?
I was there that night, the place was mayhem, with almost everybody 'chemically solvent.' I don't really think the management knew what to expect, or how to control it, they certainly wer not fully swithched on to the northern scene at all. I still have a poster from that night, it reads "Ride on soul brother" instead of "Right on soul brother" to Troggs Farnworth. Happy days though. Regards Ricardo.

Problems With Royal Mail To The Us?
Having problems myself, I sold a record on here to a fellow member on 22 - 11 - 2010, & It has still to arrive. It was sent by Royal mail International signed for. Also with mail coming from the U.S. to the U.K. there is a delay (not withstanding the weather problems) items also were sent 'U.S.P.S Express' Suppose the only thing to do is to be patient  Seasons greetings to all. Ricardo.

Soulboy - The Movie. You've Seen It So . .
YES I THINK IT MATTERS REGARDING WHEN A TRACK WAS FIRST PLAYED.......................Chalky, you go to the highest order when you review or give information on rare Northern records or the scene, so why accept a shambles of a sound track like this one. The reference to Paul Sadot was only that I cocured with his views in general regarding this film. There's a fine line between 'poetic licence' and making a total cock up of it. Yes there are some fantastic tracks in there, however they are in the Minority, so why accept second best. Regards Ricardo.

Soulboy - The Movie. You've Seen It So . .
Here's the Soundtrack for the film taken from website..............how far from the truth can you get, the majority being former Twisted Wheel standards, that later came to be youth club classics, except for Billy Preston - The girls got it, which was well known by collectors around the start of the Blackpool Mecca, Torch, Wigan etc era. Have a 'butchers' @ this lot it beggars belief, some being unreleased Motown tracks. Why o why didn't they consult somebody who knew the (musical) score Wigan wise.............there's enough of them around, but I wonder how many would really want to be associated with ths parody / masterpiece of poetic license. 01.
