  1. On the question of Kop's, I was there last week, see my post re. the Roy Hamilton bootleg (as i now find out). I also bought a copy of Basic, Black and Pearl - There'll Come A Time - Wam but it was only $5.99, it was not priced the same as all his other stuff so I thought somebody might have made a mistake. Does anyone know if this has been "booted"? His selection is a pale shadow of what it used to be, lots of boots, pressings, re-issues etc and the stock doesnt seem to change much from one month to the next.
  2. Eddie, that is what I am trying to establish.
  3. That is the one Prophonics. I am assuing UK demo as address says Ace Records, Laaandan.
  4. Picked up a Roy Hamilton 45 on Kent Soul from Kop's and wondered if it was previously un-released? Was it done as a promo for a CD? Titles are Let The Music Play/You Belong To My Heart - Kent Soul KT-962-A
  5. They never really bothered me until I found a pile of about 10 of each mint Fantastic Four and Al Kent 45's on the Dark Red Canadian Ric Tic label and the drill hole went through the last 5 or 6 grooves, gutted.
  6. I have a box of US company sleeves just lying around and wondered if anyone was interested in them. A quick cross section of sleeves: World Pacific, World Artists, Westbound (blue with New York address), Uptown, Reinbeau, Parrot, Mutual, Liberty, King (4 different styles), Kapp, IRDA, Hanna Barbera, Hi, Hickory, GWP, Fontana, Fraternity, Dyno Voice, Decca, Dunhill, Coral, Cameo, Cameo Parkway (3 different styles), Challenge, Co-Ed, Cub, Bunky, Brunswick, Boom, APT etc etc. Plus lots of Atlantic and Atco and an Australian Atlantic sleeve. Also got a small handful of Canadian like Zircon, Quality, Barrel and a few more. Am asking $5 each but am open to offers. Let me know what you are interested in.
  7. Came out on Bell in Canada as well
  8. I have had 3 of them over the years and the first track on the 60's side has always jumped? Was that deliberate? Do they all skip? There was thread on here last year? about this album.
  9. I have pretty much stopped buying off ebay for both of the above reasons, condition and shipping. There must be some mileage in a data base of dodgy dealers/sellers on here.
  10. I have an Ex condition Canadian copy if you want to make an offer. I also have a vg+ US copy as well
  11. Bring back Polly and Dennis Lee.
  12. Record and Tape Exchange in Camden is OK as well. Quite a large selection of Soul 45's in the basement last time I was there. There were also a couple of units inside the market across the road selling vinyl.
  13. Boring Fact No 1 - My wife runs with one of Stranger Cole's daughters on a Saturday morning in Hamilton, Ontario.

  17. Was quite surprised to find this on an album. It is on Harlem Hit Parade and is called Cruisin' With The.... cant remember the rest. Will have to dig it out.
  18. I can now officially report that Canadian Cable TV is fooking pants. For the last 2 nights I have been subjected to the worst kind of mindless reality TV you can imagaine. I actually said to her last night "how can you sit and watch this absolute drivel" which sparked a healthy debate and ended with me going to bed ina bit of a huff. There was no need for language like that. Welcome back Soul Source.

  20. Question for Mr Rounce. Where does Sterling Harrison fit in the COTB? Was he there right from the beginning? Reason I ask is he lives not far from here and I have an aquaintance who is a mate of his. I have picked up a couple of his 45's and an album and moved them on pretty quickly as they didnt do much for me. The only COTB album I have is a Greatest Hits and I dont see him credited? I also saw COTB at Gloucester Leisure Centre some time in the 80's? and from what I remember they werent very good. I remember a long drawn out version of Love Train and Richard Searling decided to turn up in what looked like a parachute suit?!?!?
