OK, heres the deal on the Soul scene in Canada - there isnt one. Secondly, Montreal is about a 6 hour drive from Toronto. Obviously I say sorry to anybody who runs any sort of Soul night in the GTA and if you do please let me know. Kev Cox used to run The Soul Clan with Alun Bell, Mick? and Les?, I just caught the end of that and they seemed like good beery nights with a bit of Mod stuff thrown in. Then Kev and Mick tried to get something going with the Mods in Toronto called The Empire Soul Club but unfortunately that didnt take off either. I have been in communication with one of the Mods, Kyke Gedge and he had a Soul night planned for December but they got double booked - not having much luck am I? Plus 'er indoors keeps bending my ear about having a dance!! Oh well, keep looking. By the way Matt, what was the name of the guy in Hamilton, I live about 5 mins outside the city.

I have a copy of a Wam 45 by Basic, Black and Pearl called "Right On Baby" Thgink the other side is something to do with Christmas? Havent heard it for a while, will have to dig it out.

Sorry , isnt the B side called "This is my confusion"? I have a couple of copies of this somewhere. I also have another 45 by them but cant remeber what it is called, will try and dig it out.

Talking of ploughing through pages of "boots" on ebay. There is now an Impressions - You Been Cheating/Tams - Be Young on an ABC look-a-like in the latest batch to appear? Why would records this common need to be booted?

Reluctant to use the word "Celebrity" but I am sure 70's Coventry City player Mickie Ginn was a soul boy and had a decent collection. Why I remember this I have no idea!!

Santa bought me: Manships UK price guide, Gil Scott Heron - Ghetto Style CD and the Explosivos 7' Latin Soul Box Set. Plus tomorrow I am going to make Martin Koppell a couple of $100 richer, same as I do every year.

I cant tell you what it was called or the guys name but you couldnt have picked a bigger load of nutters to focus on. They didnt seem to specialise like we do, but they all had rooms full of vinyl and to a man they were all just balancing nicely on the edge of insanity - great viewing. I have since met on of the guys who collects Country and has a warehouse full of the stuff and sells at all the local fairs.

Isnt there a blue label original as well? I had the red re-issue.

Picked up a Canadian copy of Ghost In My House last week. Any body got a current price? B side has a red Promotion Copy stamp on it? Then I realised I have never seen a Canadian Motown promo before? Is this a promo? Probably not in vogue at the moment but dont think I have seen one of these for a long long time, if at all.

Somebody on here was asking for the Polydor self titled album. I played it at the weekend and it is a great mix of 70's dancers and ballads - recommended.

I have picked up Beloyd - $24.99, Arthur Freeman - $30 and Willie Hutch - $25 in the last 12 - 18 months!!!, plus lots of nice cheapies.
