  7. Bin Lid , Union Street , Dewsbury is still standing and I believe in use as business premises of some description , all neatly sand blasted now though , possibly still got the same fire escape renovated as well not sure though. Happy days Martyn

Hi Lorraine Sad to hear these words , there was a even another write up in the Sunday Express in Britain today about Detroit and its downward spiral , one about arson gone up 60% for insurance claims so residents can move out , so sad to hear that this once great city that gave us so much soul music has come to this. Truly hope things get better. Martyn

Got these Srutt (had two copies one gone to a good home Brett ), Bobby Byrd forgot about this was cheap too cool pic sleeve , Midnight so nice on Durium was surprised when it turned up pic sleeve misprinted too Italians can't spell Midnight apparently, will scan these if wanted . No clash at all except both in Bradfud just like City and Park Avenue different teams Different venues with different soul tastes in both dance floor and vinyl collecting no worries whatsoever . Me n johnnyboy had a gr8 afternoon as usual and to top it off got in First Class carriage on way back by mistake , Grand Central lady with uniform ( proper power dressed up ) checks tickets " you should not be in here " , but we now know conductor he says there ok , so stopped in carriage ,then Chris Kamara gets off at Wakey Station , damn wish we had bumped into him earlier for a chat, after a few beers that would have been well funny. Well done all top venue.
  22. Posting this for a friend who is not a member on here. Neil Saville ( Sav ) 61 years old who was well known in the Spenborough / Dewsbury area of West Yorkshire in the late sixties and early seventies , before moving to Southport and lately Scotland . Sav was a regular at The Twisted Wheel and Torch and also local Soul Clubs. Sadly , Sav recently passed away , his funeral will be at Dewsbury Crematorium on Wednesday 20th March at 3.15 p.m. Sincere condolence to all Neil's family and friends. R.I.P. Neil

Hey up Ian Still got an original flyer for the first Taurus all dayer when you used to list all the top names of the big records of the day , was weird at times going upstairs to get yer drinks and all those guys with pork pie hats staring at you as you went to the bar .
