  1. Why not take up the task yourself ? as the guys in Sheffield have done. Dave was a well known figure in Sheffield as well as a Soul fanatic also a film buff too and was director of the independent Anvil cinema in Sheffield for a time. So the plaque in Sheffield is worthy in my opinion.

  3. Probably is if you like pop music, maybe your username gives your musical leanings away.
  4. This record is unknown pop crap.
  5. Nothing there now for me, my device maybe ?
  6. Might sound better if you add a video 🙂
  7. That's unlucky, hope that was not the best in there 😂
  8. I like so many types of soul music to pick one tune but from a Northern aspect this track sums up the whole package for me it's got attitude, thumping beat a great lyric and sung to perfection - " I,m Gone" Eddie Parker , never tire of hearing it.
  9. Thanks, only came across this record in my box yesterday, no idea I had it I remember the record was given to me by a friend along with some others that were of no interest to him. Funny I have only been aware of this great record in the last few months after hearing the Latasha Lee version so was surprised to find the Lovations gathering dust in my box.
  10. Could someone tell me if the Lovations " I Don't Want You " on Cap City has been booted My copy has cc -115 -A " I Don't Want You " 2/9/70 etched in the runout. Thanks.
  11. Good job you are not a dj then, with your requests clearing the dance floor (only joking) 😂

  13. Hundreds of cds and apart from the occasional skip on one or two never been a issue and those that have skipped have just been in need off a quick wipe with a lint free cloth, never needed to resort to chemicals but then again I do treat them with the same respect I do with vinyl. I have though noticed a few that have tarnished in colour but fortunately not impacted on play back.
  14. Don't bother Peter same old same old , Al Wilson, Frank Wilson, Chuck Wood , you get the picture I am sure.
  15. Possibly, maybe, who knows.
  16. Still feeding the birds here got goldfinches a Robin and a few blackbirds and a few bluetits and fortunately the woodpigeons are doing me a favour they wait for the goldfinches to feed and eat the residue that they drop so no mess under the feeders at the moment and I also check before dusk for any waste food and clear up , so hopefully no vermin encouraged. Watching the antics from my kitchen window is one of my early morning rituals and delights and surprised how much to see even In my medium sized garden.
  17. Did not know that but I would imagine that the ease of getting food in urban areas has also led to the boom in numbers in towns and city much like the seagull population I was watching about 50 seagulls yesterday catching the thermals in the sky and they are now on the local playing fields in the morning looking for worms or insects I would imagine, then hitting the local landfill later I would imagine.
  18. Think the woodpigeons have urbanised, when I was young never saw one outside of the countryside now there nesting in my back garden and loads on the roofs around here they also seem to have changed diet to eat anything put in front of them even donar kebabs seem on the menu lol. Sadly I have not seen or heard a song thrush for years.
  19. Katherine - Ben E King
  20. Wendy's Gone - Ronnie Mcneir
  21. Yvonne - Jerry Williams Baby Jane - Otis Clay Wake Up Susan - Detroit Spinners
  22. The birds on my feeders are now returning, been quiet since the breeding season finished, I assume plentiful natural food been available for them. Plenty of Bumblebees on my fuchsias and hoverfles, just had half an hour on the garden and a dragonfly was milling about, I usual go outside about 9pm to watch the bat's catching insects. But as most posters above wasps seem to be scarce and only seen a few flying ants emerging from my lawn it's usually teeming with them about the end of July. Also saw a sparrowhawk try taking a starling from a flock in a nearby elderberry and then it was mobbed by 3 magpies. Is the fact that councils are now not cutting grass verges regularly and leaving them to run wild helping the insects and maybe that has a knock on effect from visitors to our gardens ? only a suggestion.
  23. Think that was Millie Small and "My Boy Lollipop", Peter
  24. Great to see some cheap lps getting some recognition this lp and the Anita Baker lps are well deserved mentions.
