Rhythm Rascals On Sonic - Ever Played?
As good as it is Mark (and it really is good) it's poor compared to the Soul Communicators "Please don't go"

Rhythm Rascals On Sonic - Ever Played?
Came out on Roulette as well. The beat ballad side has the same backing as the flip to the Soul Communicators on Fee Bee "please don't go". Think the group was somehow connected to Fee Bee and/or Chuck Corby??

Milton Wright - I Belong To You
In the foggy back of my memory I think it was either a link to an interview with MW or Milton himself posting on Soul Source many moons ago...

Milton Wright - I Belong To You
As far as I remember Milton Wright himself confirmed he recorded both tracks back in the 60s but they remained unreleased until late 70s.

Epitome Of Boots
Mick, thanks for clearing that up. Never heard of it being pressed on white demo and it's not mentioned in Manship Bootleg Guide #2.

Epitome Of Boots
What's the difference between an original W/D and a bootleg W/D? I'm only aware of the green label pressing.

Anyone Know This? Clip From A Keb Darge Podcast
here's a clip taken from a 2008 Keb Darge podcast. Anyone know this song? I know i've heard it before (I might even had it at one time in the past) but I can't remember artist or title. Can anybody put me out of misery? TIA Benji LINK

J.d. Bryant On Shrine Estate Find In Usa
JD Bryant is a truly great song, wonderful production, good lyrics and matching vocals. The ambitious yet still rather amateurish approach adds a lot of charm to it. That approach doesn't work on all Shrine productions mind! Jackie Lee is a crap song. Average vocals on a song that doesn't really go anywhere. When I heard either song for the first time I didn't know how dear they were or what label they were released on. I only judge by the musical quality and JD Bryant sure is the winner.

New York City Strollers?
Came out at least on a blue label Bretby Allnighters Anniversary bootleg (?) 12". Don't know if it was released in any other format

A La Carte ?
Ady, to be honest I think it's not bad but very astounding that somebody thinks your liner notes are worth reproducing Anyway, back to the thread: If there was/is any specific reason for CD sales going down since the late 90s it's the general file sharing/mp3 swapping to blame and certainly not home-compiled CDs. But personally I don't think that's the only reason for Goldmine/Goldsoul and Grapevine going out of business. I think the first simply didn't come up with any interesting CDS in their later days, i.e. rather unloving compiled CDs with boring sleeve notes. The latter, Grapevine, was too elitist to get sufficent sales, although I have all of their releases and think they were brilliant (apart from the Funk ones ). Giving away complimentary CDs at venues sure doesn't do any harm to official CDs sales, anybody saying so simply tries to find a cheap scapegoat. I always saw and will see CD freebies and home-made CDs being sold in small numbers as the natural successor to audio tapes. Of course advertising them on the net and selling in bigger numbers is just as illegal and immoral as counterfeiting official CDs.

Johnny Taylor - What About My Love - Beverley Glen
In order to get longer tracks on a 45 grooves have to pressed more tightly. This very often ends up with poorer sound quality (low-fi) and very audible scratches even if they are hardly visible.

New York City Strollers?
I guess you mean "New York City Walkers"? Haunting disco instrumental? That's unissued as far as I know. Ask Dave Thorley, he owns it

J.d. Bryant On Shrine Estate Find In Usa
I'm with you on JDB but not sure about the Cairos, sometimes I think it's ok the next day I think it's rubbish. Personal top three Shrine tracks (that come to mind w/out 2nd thought): 1) Shirley Edwards - Dream my heart 2) JD Bryant - I won't be coming back 3) Ray Pollard - No more like me These three overshadow everything else that was recorded for Shrine (IMO!)

How Can E-Bay Allow This On There Site
- Boots are getting sold here on Soul Source, hardly anyone is against that. - Most Northern Soul dealers in the UK and Europe stock boots, hardly anyone is against that. Yet you guys say it's immoral to sell boots/carvers on Ebay? Stop being hypocritical! If you guys really object to bootlegs getting sold as much as you say you do, get things going: 1) ban selling boots on Soul Source 2) report every dealer that sells illegal reissues to the authorities

"storm Warning" - Daryl Hall & John Oates
Has anyone played track no.2 "I need your love"? This is The Masters on Crimson. Didn't know Hall and Oates were in that group too...

"storm Warning" - Daryl Hall & John Oates
Nice to see they've included both of the Temptones 45s as well. I'll give it a listen tonight...

Help With Valuation Please
As said by Bob, rarest format is the vinyl issue which I'd value at about 300/350 on a good day..

Do Collectors Really Pay For "place Holders"?
Frame it and put it on the wall, or cut around the label and stick it on your DJ box, or melt it into a nice cup for your beloved ones hair ties (or flower pot if it's a 12"). Failing that I'd really put it into the collection I guess....

E Bay Postage Is This The Way Round It ?
I already noticed three different ways to get around the free postage bit: 1) 'handling and packaging charge' 2) offering free postage only if you pick up the item yourself. and last but not least the best one: 3) Quotes like "Ignore Ebay's free postage policy! By placing a bid on my auction you accept to pay postage of $...."
