  1. OTIS CLAY - YOU HURT ME FOR THE LAST TIME/BABY JANE (EX) £90 wonderful midtempo crossover sound b/w pounding uptempo R&B tune. Comes in original company sleeve ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Paypal only. Worldwide P&P from Germany: £3.60 standard / £5.90 signed for / £7.50 Fully Insured (Europe only)
  2. I'd say it's not worth 395 quid but to be honest, for something collecting Casino memorabilia this might be a must-have.
  3. Don't know if it applies to UK labels too, but many german demos were just issues with a "not for sale" (or something similar) stuck on it. Was told reason for that is pretty simple, either they didn't bother to print separate demo labels or they ran out of demos and sent out issues with a sticker instead.

Don't know if it's styrene or vinyl. But yes, there is an original issue with that very same design (i.e. no lines) but the original is silver writing on black label.

When was the bootleg pressed? And was it done for the UK Soul Scene or the Belgian Popcorn scene? From what I recall the boot had white label/black writing just like the white demo but was missing the line on the label and the "not for sale" etc part.
  6. Hey Chris, any chance of a track list? For the previous vols as well? I'm playing vol3 as I type and the sounds are sure marvelous....👍
  7. Nope, not ok. Album is original. This is a reissue due to demand from the "Rare Soul Collectors Scene". It shall not be played out loud at any public dance. Yours sincerely, Wachtmeister Benji German Soul Police
  8. Thanks for the info. I guess now it's the people involved in the album that makes it so collectable. Jagger, Oldham, The Nice, Steve Marriott to name a few.
  9. No. Also in Germany, Netherlands, Italy.
  10. I heard of the "withdrawn" story but to be honest I don't believe it. I checked Discogs, 10 copies sold over the recent years and currently 3 copies for sale. If the album was really withdrawn shouldn't it be rarer? However, as you said, there's probably some demand coming from collectors who are into Stones, Small Faces etc. But, back to one of my initial questions, are there any non-45 tracks on it that justify that demand?
  11. UK Immediate copy of PP Arnold - First Lady of Immediate went for over €100 on Ebay earlier today. Thought that was quite high before I checked Discogs to see that it usually goes for much more. What's the story about this album? Why is it so expensive? Rare? Any good album-only tracks on it? Or is it of music historical relevance because of the musicians/writers/producers involved? Thanks Benji
  12. May I use this thread for a simple question coming from a non-english speaking country? WTF are the lyrics about? I don't get it. I think it's an excellent tune. Used to have the UK issue and played it a few times here in Munich for great success. But I never managed to understand what they were actually singing about.....
  13. It is a hard to find record. In my opinion.
  14. So you say, out of x purple vinyl 45s, pressed for RSD in Detroit, 700 were done just for UK market?
  15. @Gogs: you downvoted my post. Why?
  16. I think the point is that Denise will be selling what is left. After RSD. Or at least that's how I understand it. The other day I read any article in a german record collector's mag about Jack White, Third Man Records and his exploits in pressing vinyl records. Very interesting. He did not just set up Third Man Records to release contemporary recordings and re-release rare old records. But also to experiment with how to press records. E.g. there's an LP pressed in clear vinyl with blue liquid inside. How cool is that?
  17. Sorry, but is this a joke? That tune been played to death all over Europe many many moons ago......
  18. It might have been in BR first or as well. But I never had a copy of BR. Once I find the time I'll go up the attic and dig out the copy of SOS with the Volumes pic.
  19. sorry, didn't read all previous posts. But, Tommy Hunt - Cracking up and Get Out? Were they really that massive?
  20. The volumes was in shades of soul I think. Anyway, giveaway was the font used for the Pama copy was the same as on the American arts 45.

Get a Discogs.com account, check out the prices it went for there and put your copy up there priced accordingly.
