UK Immediate copy of PP Arnold - First Lady of Immediate went for over €100 on Ebay earlier today. Thought that was quite high before I checked Discogs to see that it usually goes for much more. What's the story about this album? Why is it so expensive? Rare? Any good album-only tracks on it? Or is it of music historical relevance because of the musicians/writers/producers involved? May I use this thread for a simple question coming from a non-english speaking country? WTF are the lyrics about? I don't get it. I think it's an excellent tune. Used to have the UK issue and played it a few times here in Munich for great success. But I never managed to understand what they were actually singing about.....

It is a hard to find record. In my opinion.

I think the point is that Denise will be selling what is left. After RSD. Or at least that's how I understand it. The other day I read any article in a german record collector's mag about Jack White, Third Man Records and his exploits in pressing vinyl records. Very interesting. He did not just set up Third Man Records to release contemporary recordings and re-release rare old records. But also to experiment with how to press records. E.g. there's an LP pressed in clear vinyl with blue liquid inside. How cool is that?

It might have been in BR first or as well. But I never had a copy of BR. Once I find the time I'll go up the attic and dig out the copy of SOS with the Volumes pic.

The volumes was in shades of soul I think. Anyway, giveaway was the font used for the Pama copy was the same as on the American arts 45.

Get a Discogs.com account, check out the prices it went for there and put your copy up there priced accordingly.

Check out Discogs. It's a pretty accurate indicator for prices most of the times. Based on the sales there I'd say 300 quid max for a w/d.

Steve, like you I can't remember. But a few brain cells tell me, that I bought it from Marc Forrest in the late 90s or early 2k's. Does that ring any bell with you? That swiss reggae shop wasn't in Zurich by any chance. There used to be a shop run by an brit expat....

Ady, did you find the alt version on tape or acetate? I recall Nancy Yahiro once found an acetate of a different mix. Think I got it on CD somewhere.
