  1. Is the other version the one w/out the address underneath "Paree records"?
  2. My figures were incorrect, I did it with a ruler where most of the scale was hardly readable. A different ruler says 10mm ballad side and 12mm on the uptempo side. Makes sense, Heaven is 2:40 and My admiration for you is 2:55
  3. Here's a scan of the Heaven side. As you can see paper is not as grainy as on Pete's scan. And it's different toward the middle. As said before I can't explain that in english. (I didn't bother to compare the label's colours as one is a scan and the other one is just a picture of the label)
  4. Pete, labels look different to my original. It's hard for me to explain difference in english. I'll post a scan, that's easier. But what I noticed, run-out groove is about 14mm wide on the Heaven is in your Arms side. and about 10mm on the ballad side. Can you measure the run out groove on your copy?

It isn't a Banksy. Just a nice stencil mural.
  6. Timi Yuro is that expensive because it's the only way to get it on legit 45. It's chased by UK 45 collectors and US 45 collectors. Whereas DB is of interest only to the UK posse.
  7. Not that many trophies on auction this week IMO.
  8. Is there anything on the label/in the runout groove of the mispress that's different to the correct press? Or do you literally have to play it to see if it's the Admirations or not?
  9. Orange? Never seen that one before. I had the silver one and a quick Google search revealed there's a golden one as well. But no orange..
  10. Now that this thread moved all the way from London's 100 Club to down under, one question: How many soul 45's were issued in Australia in the 1960's?
  11. Paul, I'm wondering how you ended up with two sets? I mean, considering your age, did you have a senior moment and bought it twice? anyway, b)

Before this thread got tons of "look what I got back in a soul pack in the 70s/80s" posts. How about limiting it to say within the last 20 years? That would be much more entertaining (IMHO).
  13. SPYDER TURNER - I CAN'T MAKE IT ANYMORE/DON'T HOLD BACK - MGM (DEMO) £40 Shit-rare demo. WOL/SOL on both sides but nothing too heavy (see scans). Vinyl looks VG+ but plays at least VG++ (see clips of both sides). There's some tiny and very mild vinyl discolouration on both sides. Only to be seen when you hold the record at a certain angle. Looks like faint white mist if you know what I mean. Definitely 100% NAP! ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ worldwide P&P from Germany: standard £3.20/signed for £5.20/Fully insured (EU only) £7.00 Paypal preferred, as gift if possible. Bank transfer in EURO zone possible Spyder Turner - I can't make it (clip).mp3 Spyder Turner - Don't hold back (clip).mp3
  14. I seem to remember there's a mistake on the Capitols' album as well. It quotes "Let it all reach out" as unreleased whereas it was released as by "The Four Bros".
  15. I guess you refer to the styrene bootleg? I can confirm there's a vinyl bootleg. Looks very convincing until you play it. You can hear it was dubbed off a scratchy record.
  16. Well, I rarely buy from the US these days. But an LP I bought the other day took just 6 days from the States to Germany. Pretty quick IMO.
  17. Discogs say they're "unofficial releases" yet they're on iTunes. Figure that out. But I agree with Jason. Some great tunes.
  18. Pages a good contender. I started buying from UK lists in the very early 90s and I don't recall seeing this one listed as a pressing before the early internet days.
  19. Benji replied to a post in a topic in All About the SOUL
I did at a local do. Velours I'm gonna change MGM demo. Was advertised as a bootleg. 8 Euros.
  20. Yeah, easy to spot if you know what to look out for. But if you don't then it's pretty easy to assume it's an original. Mind, Richard was talking about pre-internet days, i.e. no bootleg guide around. I guess most boots of Jerry Cook (or Alexander Patton) on Capitol were sold as originals. Another one I don't recall back then on lists as a bootleg is Joe Douglas on Playhouse.
  21. Which Roscoe Robinson? There are two releases on Gerri. And both look pretty legit to me.
  22. Not necessarily. E.g. Silhouettes on Goodway album/45, both US.
  23. Seeing that the french 7" of Garnet Mimms - As long as I have you (allegedly?) sold for 1.000 Euros while the album is readily available, I was wondering what's the biggest gap in value between album and 7" of a Northern soul track? Here's my top 3: Timi Yuro - It'll never be over - Liberty album vs UK Liberty 45 (album 20 quid or so, 45 a grand) Garnet Mimms - As long as I have you - UA album vs french UA 45 (album 30-ish, 45 1.000 euros) Silhouettes - Not me baby - Goodway 45 vs Goodway album (45 close to a grand, album 150-ish) Any additions?
  24. They should be tarred and feathered for what they've done to Deep Shadows. They literally killed one of my alltime favourites. First vid is nice though
  25. Mark, you're right. I probably thought of another record. Have edited my post.
