Tobi Lark, Roy Roberts weren't worth more back then. Both around in quantities. Don't think I paid more than 30/40 for RR. When I found the Decisions (rarest Topper release) locally I decided to collect the whole label. Took me just a few months to get them all. Don't think I paid more than 15/20 quid each for any of the other releases. And that includes both presses of Pricilla Page.
  2. Exactly. issue 30/35 top.

I still got most of the UK lists from the early 90s when I started collecting seriously. But can't dare to look at them. It would hurt too much to see what I have missed. E.g. John Powney 94ish - Patti & Emblems - Love you long long time - Kapp 20 quid.
  5. Because most people are too busy going through their favourite records to see who produced them

I wouldn't say vocals are weak, they just a tad too shrill.

  10. Either bump the old thread or start a new one. Not both. I know it's not breaking any rules, but it's annoying.
  11. No need to open two threads.
  12. SUGARPIE DE SANTON - A LITTLE TASTE OF SOUL - GEDINSON'S W/D (VG) - 25 Great uptempo Mod R&B from 1962. Looks VG-, starts with crackles but improves significantly later on. 13. Isn't the flip of this "look out your window" a german only 45 release?
  14. Nicked from CollectorsFrenzy:
  15. Thanks. That's all I need to know.
  16. Jerry Ganey - Just a fool - Verve What's the rarer format? Issue or demo? Got both and want to keep just one, sell the other. Any ideas? Thanks!
  17. you have. it's the first press of the Showtime release. but it came out on Party Time before. PT issue rarely turns up, usually with high price tag. However, I doubt it sells @ these prices.
  18. Wasn't one of the first boots Chubby Checker "Discotheque"? On a green label? Or am I mixing it up?
  19. two weeks ago, placed a bid on a cheap record I was really after. 20 secs to end of auction I was still winning bidder, 10.20 euros (my max bid was something like 17.50). Got nervous about my max bid being high enough so intended to raise bid via the mobile. Due to my clumsyfingers I almost bid 210.21 euros instead of 21.21. By the time I corrected it and pressed "send" auction ended @ 17.51. I got overbid by 1 cent!

No it didn't. It was $10K in 2008.
  21. that sums it up IMO. W & MMs is great tho.

I'm going to win the lottery tomorrow and will fly over to collect Mello Souls personally.
  23. Pretty sure it was just her, no band. Will try to find the pictures I took. Edit: it was definitely 1995. Even tho the more I think about it the less I'm sure I saw Doris Troy live.
  24. There was a live act, Doris Troy. Probably got the year wrong. Was it 1995?
