  1. another copy in germany and one in asia.
  2. one of those records that more or less hadnt really had any development in price for the last ten to 15 years. compared to other records of less qualitybut same level of rarity that made ridiculous price jumps in said period of time a price jump for this awesome and archetypical detroit 45 was long over due. not that I like it but simply a fact.
  3. post in germany is sadly not what it used to be anymore. since years I am having a po box. when the german post stopped to have their own offices in favour of having licenced/franchise "offices" in petrol stations, super markets and newsagencies (part of globalization affecting your every day life I guess..!) I ended up with a po box in the backroom of a local newsagency. It was when I noticed more and more post adressed to other parties arriving in my po box that I started worrying same thing will (..must) happen to some of my post as well...currently missing two packages that are looong overdue (over a month), a uk seller did send me a package in september which never arrived. this plus the ever increasing greed of our customs will let me more and more decide on ups or fedex as postal options for more dear items. as a sender I lost three packages in more than 20 years, one in germany, one to england (although this was found again by the royal post ... only to went lost again) and one to the us.
  4. no mate, as I told you at Roter Salon a few weeks ago you can use it free of charge online.. https://www.raresoulvinyl.co.uk
  5. what was it, maybe a soul-sourcer is willing to let his/her copy go .. unless of course its your best kept secret and you dont wanna tell in public ;) ?
  6. I think that sums it up properly and completely. Its seems to have happened at some sort of a revival night, nth to do with the Rare Soul scene at all. totally unimportant what medium was used as the whole scenery (of the revival and oldies scene) is of no interest to the Rare Soul Scene IMO. As I said in a simliar thread recently...two seperate worlds. Marc NB have to add though that I dont agree on that "hes a top bloke", "got great taste and records" "has been responsible for.." etc for being used as an "excuse". nobodys yesterdays merits should be used as a future "card blanche" for wrong doings .. having said that I cant find any wrong doing here as explained above..
  7. hi tracey, your welcome. dont think it will proove to hard. Just saw one going thru ebay a few weeks ago. MIght posting up a want on here may get you one soon
  8. This is very very sad. Musicwise and from the people involved one of the UK`s premier nights. In my boook anyway.
  9. paid 75 eur some years ago if of any help to you
  10. I remember when I played this butch on his first visit ever to Berlin some ten years ago and it did take him some time to find a decent copy..most come in vg only sadly..if they come that is. hopefully you find one soon mate!
  11. plus lorraine chandlers 45s ..looks like someone foudn a small box. nice as it gives me a chance to upgrade.
  12. Totally wrong. nowhere did I say all, infact I believe (hope) its the minority.
  13. I may be able but sure wont do. like it or not, believe it or not..its been part of the scene for over thirty years.
  14. this is brilliant nev LOL
  15. if you cant imagine that I am sorry to attest your imagination somehow seems to be quite limited. Thank you for the correction of my grammar. when ever you should feel the need to write in my language (German) let me know and I will gladly help and teach you with the same shown generosity.
  16. Derek, you are so spot on! And this annoys me big time..many people say they care for the music and the artists and tell you a moment later for how much (little!) they managed to get hold of "..all his copies", "all the remaining stock that was there left" etc etc Talk about hypocricy...
  17. a strong hip city fave for the last couple of years mate...but your are right on the other accounts, a fab 45 with one awesome deep flip..and your price...well, it defines the expression "steal" completely new !
  18. 6 months only...you did very well, I have a copy at 150 EUR in my sales box since two years.
  19. My general point of view on this matter is that it is indeed sad to see so many "hot" tunes being re-released so soon, too soon these days! Be it done the legal or illegal way. Willie Tee, Cosmos Universal Band, Roy Roberts, Salt & Pepper, Parliaments, Hopkins Bros. etc etc etc My reason for thinking it is sad is that indeed it will kill the Upfront scene in the long run. Much because of what has been said already, "new" tunes being so seldomly found these days, people loosing interest in supoorting the forward thinking venues on a wide basis because they can easily access the song they wanna hear at home. But not only via bootlegs and re-issues..also soundcloud, mixcloud, youtube..rare tunes dont seem to have that mystical extra added to them anymore since you can access easily almost every tune these days via your i-phone or home pc. I dont think the fact that any Dickie and Tommy will play said tunes via re-releases or bootlegs will do the Upfront Scene any harm as I believe what has been often said (on this forum)..it is two seperate scenes and worlds really. And why should the Soul Scene be any different to say the world of fashion ? You have some forward thinking small designers and a year or two later some big branches have copied what was so unique and sell it on a global scale. It always worked that way and will always continue to do so. But it takes away the fuel our Rare Soul scene is moving by...new and fresh tunes to play out, to dance to, to chat about and to hunt down.
  20. answer is a simple no as re-issues are only half the "problem"..bootleggers wouldnt be hold back form the fact some DJ committee owns the rights..
  21. Yes indeed, the same old story as so often. Thats why in this day and age I came to the conclusion to use phrases such as "found by", "discovered by", "first played by" etc.very very reluctant. "It was made massive" is a whole different thing though and I would wholeheartedly agree on the fact that (again) it was/is Andy and Butch who are responsible for this being as hot as it was/is.
  22. By the way James, nice to see you back (seriously).
  23. Hi Chalky, Tim told me about him buying a copy for a mere 40 UKP back then (forgot off whom..) then filed it away soon as he didnt liked it that much back then.
  24. A great record, and it was very massive over here in Germany the last couple of years. Having said that, it is almost over played by now over here with about ten DJ`s having copies and playing them out of course. Still, as I said, a great 45 indeed and Dave`s (yet) unrel. first version is very much sounding the bizz indeed !
