  1. Not quite the build of a Sound Burger - the tone arm and headshell/needle from audio-technica were top notch.. But the ability to transmit the sound via an FM channel is a top idea and obviously the conversion feature. Nice little bit of kit and alot cheaper than grabbing an original Sound Burger in good nick.. If you want something a bit different to play your vinyl, check this out:
  2. The latest guide is far more complete Seb and much easier to use in helping to identify most known boots and counterfeits,, ATB Greg.
  3. Yes, a boot Tag - as Sebastian has also pointed out.. Mr Las Vegas has been pumping them out for a long while (I'm sure these were available late eighties / early nineties?). He has now dropped the "only way to own this on 45" tag line so again a dubiously ambiguous listing. It doesn't feature on her Maple album Uptown but it is of course available on the Trip LP by the Ohio Players feat. Towanda Barnes (slightly different take though to my ears?). ATB Greg.
  4. To be fair, his other listings usually give a noncommittall comment i.e. the S F TKO's is simply listed as on 'Golden State' not entirely clear but alot of sellers are guilty of ambiguity. In other cases he has had legitmate copies of formerly 'big' records (Royal Esquires on Prix) and stated clearly a record is not 'original' but is a way to own something on 45 previously unreleased (Towanda Barnes - Love Slipped) The naughty part is that the Las Vegas legend specifically states that the Toby Bullard is quote "NOT A BOOTLEG" and I believe the consensus is clear that it is. Wrong, morally and legally on a number of levels imho. Regards, Greg.
  5. Yes, definite vinyl copy with moulded label. I agree with Benji on the relevance of styrene vs vinyl. Styrene can often sound superior to vinyl with a very clean reproduction. What matters is the grading accuracy. If records are only visually graded there is always a chance that there may be some possible distortion or damage even on a NM looking or even unplayed 45. It is then true that vinyl is generally the more resilient over time so care of the 45 is key to keep styrene in top order. IMHO :-) ATB Greg.
  6. It's a brilliant tune and perfect for today's more eclectic venues. ATB G.
  7. All very good uses of the backing track but Cindy & The Playmates the tuffest version by far and my choice (sorry J) - while Mark V is great value for money and one that could rise as copies get gobbled up.. ATB G.
  8. Hi Sebastian, I thought this one was an instrumental tune? "Virtues "Meditation of the Soul / Doin' It" (Andee) EX+ £20 Great sitar-funk tune. Nice flip as well." ATB G.
  9. And it's Forever Together I do believe ;-) G.

That's exactly the point on this one. It's a great record and has been a good cheapie but the demand has increased significantly recently with demand from the US. It's been fetching way above the norm (£15 - £25) so £40 now is very fair. Regards Greg.
  15. The original version was not done by Ray Charles. Ray Charles did record it, and it's a good version, but that was recorded in 1980 on Crossover/Atlantic 3762. Other notable versions include Della Reese. The original version appears on the album 'Swiss Movement' by Les McCann with saxophonist Eddie Harris from their performance at the 1969 Montreaux Festival. Also interesting is that the lyrics and Swiss Movement vocal came courtesy of Gene McDaniels There's a good blog here for more https://funky16corner...ed-to-what.html Regards Greg.

Mr Luigi I've always liked LJB's version - hot chocolate smooth delivery yummy.. Doesn't have the highs that RP reaches but that's why I like it so much - the production is like a comfy chair.. Quality Blue Eyed Soul.. Bargain! ATB Greg.
  21. Not sure if this is the right section but.. Just a warning to all Paypal users about an email claiming to be from Paypal. It's a serious phishing threat so therefore a threat to your account and associated cards/bank accounts. It claims to be requesting confirmation that you have purchased a subscription to Skype and to 'cancel' if this is not the case. Obviously, to cancel, the email then provides a form for you to complete to provide all your details. Don't! The email comes from a 'paypal' spoof but is actually originated from scrty.dept1@msn.com If anybody has the capacity to bomb these robbing c***ts with crap to that address then that would be nice Surf safe kids.. ATB Greg.

  24. Touche Mr Anderton - always look after your loyal customers.. Very happy to say never had a problem with you mate! ATB Greg.
  25. Pete's spot on, he made an agreement and kept to it. I've just tried to buy a number off records off a 'member' on here and what a ball ache. This time it was the unwillingness to accept a standard paypal payment even though I would cover the fee and it was the first time I had even heard of the 'person' never mind dealt with them! As D says, don't be taken for a c**t. A good dealer will happily accept the buyer needs to retain some rights.. Hardly ever had a problem on here but you have to ensure things are done right. The member apologised but no deal will be done as the honour and respect that we need to show each other to make this forum work has been abused. God knows it's a buyer's market at the moment ffs! ATB Greg.
