Cheapies For Sale
Agree with Sean, some nice tunes. For a tenner, you won't go wrong with Barbara Acklin's Raindrops on Capitol - great 70's tune. --------------------------------- ATB G.

The Top 10 Faq's Regarding Northern Soul
Amazing read Steve! So good to be part of this, and I quote, "retro fad" Strange thing is, as far as I'm concerned, the whole point of my connection with "Northern Soul" is the constant, almost habitual, search for new music to my ears. Retro fads are not my bag Mr. Powers.. ------------------------------ ATB Greg.

Check Button Down Brutus/jaytex Shirts Wanted
That's right Toad they have, shame I can't get in 'em anymore! The girl in liam2005's avatar looks as if she's wearing the famous Brutus Tartan - an ever favourite for Mods, Skins, Suedeheads, Smooths, Soulboys etc etc.. I do like to see a little sartorial elegance - good luck with your search Greg (have you tried the modculture forum?) ------------------------ ATB Greg.

Ebay Free Postage Abolished
Good news for anybody that sells lower value items or offers low starting prices.. Just seen that Ebay are to scrap their Free Postage policy on mdia items! Ebay said: "Although buyers have responded positively, some sellers indicated this is having a negative impact on their listing.." Go figure ------------------------------ ATB G.

Mark Iii - Shoul I Believe You - Stop
Wasn't refering to the info on another press Boba, that's all good info and much appreciated, just wanted to focus on that type of info i.e. oubjective rather than any subjective stuff. Apologies if you read it any other way. ATB Greg.

Mark Iii - Shoul I Believe You - Stop
0 Hi Mark, Thanks for the info. Like I said we all have differing tastes I don't think it's ('Should I Believe You') a dancefloor tune either, the rhythm is all over the place - mainly due to the funk style syncopated drumming - very difficult to dance to in any typical 'northern style. Not surprised you didn't get much reaction, probably just a few confused faces! But it's that syncpated rhythm, the horns, bongos and chaotic vocal that turn me on to it! It's more a record room tune for me. The other side - 'Painful' - is as you say the quality side. BTW I'd be interested in reading Sam's review if it's available anywhere.. --------------------------------------- Regards, G.

Mark Iii - Shoul I Believe You - Stop
The flip is a real quality tune and the 'a' side is not a bad crossover sound. We all have differing opinions but to say that "it is not that great a record.." is interesting.. I don't believe it is widely known and I doubt PB has 'loads of copies' as it sold for £1500 on the 08.12.2009 - unless you believe PB massages his results it's a genuine sale, hence the question I raised as the theme of the thread.. Although this other banter is interesting to a point, I'd like to return to the question posed please. So, if anybody has any info - see first post - then it would be appreciated. BTW For the scinics, it's a record I'm after and not looking to sell! ---------------------------------------------------- Regards, G.

Mark Iii - Shoul I Believe You - Stop
Hi, I've been following this recently, MARK III - SHOULD I BELIEVE YOU / PEACEFUL, LONELY, FREE - STOP 1512 , and picked up a confused picture on it's current price and scarcity.. For information purposes it books at £750 in TB's guide and I've seen it listed for around £1000 before. I've included 2 recent sales links which demonstrate my point on current prices. Appreciate any info and opinion on this. Regards, G. (Ebay) 'get Out' Clause ?
I think you're right on the international option.. Quite a few other sellers are using this method and rightly so. For dealers relying on the income from sales as a part or full contribution to their 'wages' then free P&P is a significant hit - as if ebay don't squeeze enough as it is! As regards mayfairmenthol, I'm not sure how international Wolverhampton has become ;-) but fully support Pete's approach! ------------------------------------------ Regards, Greg.

Sean Chapman Monthly List
I was perusing quietly just now and nearly choked on me hob-nob when I saw the price of this one! This for £12 - Sean's been very generous and Mace has been very quick - unfortunately quicker than moi - to spot a REAL bargain The record must be a £50 touch any day of the week.. Regards Greg.
-
Any Chance Of A Value On This?
Seeing as nobody else has bothered About £40 - £50 is a fair price to sell and shift it. ATB Greg.

Lenny Welch
No, the title is "One Hundred Pounds Of Pain" - Pete's not refering to the price! Regards, Greg.

Tommy Turner - Lazy / Lady - Elbam
Never understood anybody paying the premium for 'Lazy' over 'Lady'. The best side anyway, IMO, is definitely the flip: TOMMY TURNER - I'LL BE GONE - Regards, Greg.

Vocals - Who Still Has "it"
Mick, Good call on Eddie Holman - whenever I've seen him he's been great. Just wish I could add Edwin Starr to the list, R.I.P, he was ALWAYS brilliant! ATB Greg.

Youtube Links/threads - Tone Them Down
MIke, You're bang on with this request. If it's a performance of interest i.e. not available in any other format to upload to the site then youtube content is imo perfectly justified. However, if it's just a soundclip then it should be posted into refo and added to the post. Even external links to youtube are not satisfactory as the link can die and the post be ruined if the youtube video is removed. The recent modern 500 thread, although a good thread, was spoilt by the mental amount of youtube links. Please add the music to refo! Only me opinion, but I believe the point on maintaining the integrity and quality of this great forum is key. Regards, Greg.
