  1. In 1992 I (with others) i got 3 Golden World 10'' acetates from the engineer Theresa Lindsey Daddy O. I believe it was sold in about 2002 via Ebay and maybe in the Northants area ? Also another 10'' Golden World acetate of Hit and Run (it's actually by Gwen Owens) though from memory it maybe hand-written Rose Batiste ? This is in the Lancashire area I think and appears on You Tube Happy to buy Hit and Run back, but I need decent SCANS of both of the above mentioned. The third acetate Heart Trouble I know where that is PS if anyone has any legit GW acetates with labels on of course I maybe interested in scans Thanks in advance PM me with details (this is not Shaw Taylor of Police 5) best Gilly
  2. Thanks buddy, hope you are all ok
  3. Looking at the photos, the Dada looks more recent than the Bill Craig photo. On 45 Cat Try My Love is down as 1964, I think later, but not recorded whilst with Dave Hamilton ?
  4. The group was managed by Dave, not the label unless I misunderstood what your'e saying.
  5. This is the actual photo that Dave Hamilton gave me in 1988. He said they were better than the Supremes at that time (shows the powerhouse of Motown. My copy of the 45 in question came from Barnie ''Duke'' Browner whe I visited him a few days later 1988. I've always wondered who these girls are ?
  6. Working on my book ''I Searched for Soul and Found the Stars'' back in 2020 I swapped emails with Group member Merlene Druskell. Merlene Karriem, sadly I can't find those emails but I remember her saying she wasn't impressed with Taylor and Turner due to lack of promotion on their 45. As a threesome Merlene, Brenda Rowlands, Brenda Knight only recorded one 45 One of the Brenda's wanted to go solo so they split. Merlene Druskell, her maiden name, became Merlene Karriem. She went on to write ''Gotta Find Away To Get Back Home'' for the group Innervision (along side member of ''Popcorn'' Wylie's group The Mighty Lovers, Lloyd Robinson) When I last corresponded with her she was out on the West Coast singing with 2 other girls Motown songs, Merlene also had done modelling (nails) for Max Factor. I understand my post is off topic, but could be expanded on
  7. Finding it hard to know which side of the world to try and find these things Louise (or can I call you Dave)? Think our Chicano brothers and sisters have learnt from days gone by when your close friend John Anderson went out and bought up everything we wanted and back then, they didn't. Once bitten, twice shy as they say Louise, your'e amongst one of 4 best researchers I have the pleasure to know, I bow before you
  8. Just brilliant mate, tried for a while to get an original copy but to no avail best Gilly
  9. Well done Guy, you come across very fluant. I remember you going off to do the show as you were living in Derby at the time, close to me of course. Many occasions I ended up being transport manager. Somewhere in the show you mention Tony Colton I Stand Acused and you finding under my marital bed, Janice I think said ''I won't ask why you was under Gilly's bed'' well something like that anyway. And of course not too long after your radio stardom, we both and including Chris King went off to Detroit on that memorable trip and meeting so many recording artists, many for the first time outside of the States great times Gilly
  10. yes, the very one in the video, now owned by Gary Steele
  11. I did have Edwin Starr Ric Tic 45s signed but under his birth name Charles Hatcher, just as the Larry Wright and the Johnnie Mae Mathews I no longer own them. I have a large number of autographs in my autograph book though, that aside of the thread of course
  12. I'll post some more up later
  13. Steve Mancha (Clyde Wilson) did Parr Hall Warrington where he didn't sing as he didn't do any rehearsal due to the demon drink getting the better of him whilst stopping with Chris King Steve then did Casino 11 in Birmingham and was able to sing. Melvin did Prestatynn and later Cleethorpes weekender
  14. That's a great story mate
  15. Only in more recent years did I learn that Pat Lewis backed on Cecil Washingtons biggie
  16. Just an obsevation, didn't Golden World studios became studio B under Motown controll after 66. The Precissions was recorded in 67? and likely to have been recorded at Terra-Sherma or United Sound. Just an observation ?
  17. I don't actually know but a combination of several names are possible, Pat Lewis, Joyce Vincent, Andantes, Rose Batiste, even Gwen Owens, she recorded Hit and Run but never got release. I think for the most part anyone who was hanging around the studio on the day of recording, it may be documented somewhere
  18. ''Popcorn'' Wylie often used the Andantes. (there was a lot of love between he and the girls) Pat Lewis backed a huge amont of artists, both on stage and in the recording studio. She was at times a fourth member of the Andantes too. Elsie Gray of and with the Debonairs backed a fair few songs (there are people more qualified to offer exact details) Pat Lewis backed all of Isac Hayes stuff. Sandra Richardson backed some of Aretha Franklins tracks the list is endless, sadly not always documented
  19. I have most of what you show and so nany more. The home of the Blues sadly Ieant out, never to be returned. The Soul Collector I have several, 1 and 2 shared the same cover. Don't know how many in total, think I have 4/5 issues.

  24. Rod, your'e not doing yourself any justice here, I think if a re-count was in order you'd have been placed 96th
