  8. Yes I thought that too ,one of the other “ secret sounds “ was Tommy Sears - Get Out ,which compared to the other 2 ,is still under the radar .
  9. To be fair ,Hold Back The Night was massive at Wigan ,played by John Vincent off the new Zing album .The tune was only previously known as the instrumental Scrub Board ,from The Torch era etc
  10. Exactly ,albums like Hard Core Poetry and Madame Butterfly are great examples of 70’s Soul at its best .

  17. Yes ,Dave Godin mentions in B & S about covering up a few records with white labels on a train trip to The Wheel ,as the punters expected some “ secret sounds “ from him .I think The Ad - Libs was one ,and Tommy Sears “ Get Out “ ( Chalet ) was another .Cheers Eddie

  21. I remember a letter in B & S circa ‘73 complaining about it being bootlegged and the sound being muffled .
  22. The released 45 isn’t as good a mix as the acetate ,as a key part of the record ( the chimes ) is muffled .

  24. Hi Tom ,this is the tape ,it wasn’t Rob Marriott who did the tape ,just a guy who gave it to me ( can’t recall his name ) early 90’s
