More help wanted, need bootleg/reissue label info
Ha ha Dave i regularly have drinks with that top Wigan dealer and can confirm what you have said...re the scooterboys...these were the descendants of the mid seventies scooterboys who wanted the most up to date scoot which at the time was a Gp from 69.They stopped production in 71 and the Spanish Jet 200 filled the void until 1976 and Arthur Francis of Watford imported the Indian ones....series 1 s and 2 s were considered for grandads. The Vespa PX was the classic eighties scooterboy scoot.

Jon Lucien was a massive record on the jazz scene in the UK in 87 88 played from The Rashida lp.Nobody wanted the 45 ep on that scene as the lp was king which is how i snagged one.

Neil Clowes was pushing this in 91...........never took off then- Under Rated Records ?
The best record posted....love this and their other one Got To Have You....i really think there should be a thread....records that could have been played out in the golden period or got lost in the fast turnover.- When An Oldie Is Fresh To Your Ears
Just got this a week ago....Im assuming its an oldie...- Over Rated Records
Gordon Keith Look Ahead.....what a mess of a record.- News: Who are the Great Soul Deejays?
- Whats Your Fave Top 5 At The Mo
Get the money is a mod oldie from the 80 s ...theres a cover of it by The T Bones on their Uk ep from the sixties...must have heard it on import.- Great Intro's
You can split....a bit of harpsichord....a bit of of i cant help myself before some black is black.- Clandisc Reggae Id
Didnt the Rudies The Split get used for a Judge Dread b side 2 years later.- When An Oldie Is Fresh To Your Ears
Wait until you hear Godoy Colberts Baby I Like It on Revue- All You Need Is Love By Tony Palmer
Its all available on the channel 4 iplayer- Funky Soul
I bought that Willie Smith in about 89 and still have it ...the same time as i bought The Smokin Shades Of Brass Grease Wheels which is a deep funk oldie which is now a rare soul newie.- Funky Soul
The sort of sounds that this thread is aimed at are Deep Funk sounds as pioneered by Keb etc in small clubs. The thread should be retitled deep funk not funky soul.So the deep funk scene died and is being ressurected at rare soul clubs.I bet a lot of these sounds are Deep Funk oldies to people like Wrighty Jap Jimmy Russ Smith Trouble ....Deep Funk oldies are the rare scenes newies.- Funky Soul
What this stuff???? How can anyone from the northern scene....production values/dancing style/music /speed get into this.. this is the stuff the north was running from in the early seventies.....i'm getting me coat and going to the sales thread....lol - Under Rated Records ?
