Peanut Duck
The very first allnighter I went to in Glenrothes Keb Darge was djing, I asked him what was the name of the track playing and he told me it was called' The Dance Track'. In my innocence I asked how much he wanted for it, he laughed and told me that it was an acetate and not for sale. After all these years it looks like the ' mystery ' track has been revealed. Nick.

Best Way Of Carrying A Couple Of Lp's
You will have people trying to see thru the case and check out your albums. As a youth I always made sure that I had a see thru bag to carry records around in, with the coolest sleeve on prominent display. Some of the 'coolest' sleeves would , nowadays, be somewhat embarassing. If The Tempests was one of the albums you could always get rid of it and get a Stardust 7 "

Djs They Never Stay All Night! Mini Or Otherwise
hear, hear that man. I've always looked on djing at a night as being a punter first and foremost and a dj second. There is nothing better than hitting the floor as soon as I've finished my set, even during my set on ocassion !

Rock Candy - Confusion Over Boot Vs Orig
Looking at the sales of ' blue label ' copies of Rock Candy on Popsike and Collectors Frenzy everyone seems convinced that their copy was an original and were described as such. However the WLP copies seem to have The 'Dist by ' info that the' ORIGINAL' blue label copies are missing. The mystery deepens. I wonder if the WLP was where the ' blue label ' copies came from, keeping all the info and just losing the promo....not for sale at the printing stage ?

Missing Records - Is This Just Bad Luck
A recent 45, which I had purchased through Soul Source, went missing and was only coming to Scotland from England ! However, the seller, CHICKENBUCKET,not only sent me a replacement, but included an extra jazzy 45 for free because of the inconvenience. Respect. Nick.

What Are Your Thoughts On This, Heard It On The Radio
Definately mental tune, but must agree with Sebastian play this to the right crowd and watch them go !

Good, Bad Or Indifferent? Discuss ;o)
My perfect moment for Rockers Revenge was playing it to 8000 ravers in the Slam tent @ T in the Park, it was pouring with rain outside so my first set of the day had a captive crowd. As for the above, whilst, as geeselad says, technically it works pretty well, the clash of two genres of music, and overuse of the Rockers vocal sets alarm bell ringing in my head. I'm sure that Dj Sherz mixes will work for a certain crowd however, all the best to him for the future. Nick.

When Did You Get ' The One '
The Search for that record,' the special one ' Obviously ebay changed the goalposts for everyone, however, here is a wee story. I dont know where I heard it first. Its Lalo Shifrin' s version of Manteca from the ' lalo schifrin en buenos aires' lp. Having the opportunity to visit Buenos Aires on a few occasions, and unable to get the record, once finding it in a record library, they would not sell it to me,It never came up on my ebay searches. Last day in Buenos Aires, just as I ask if it is possible to get a copy in the weirdest record shop, the one eyed dealer phones a friend ,says he can get me a copy for £120. i was prepared to pay, no problem. Then thought, check ebay, got a buy it now, picked it up in Buenos Aires from the guy's wife for 60 pounds.Listening to it now, superb. Maybe if the thread goes anywhere we can keep it precise and give that 'feeling' I felt when I got this album. Nick.

Favourite Label - Aesthetically Speaking
Coming from the jazz end of town, I always loved the jazz label Prestige. I'm not sure if you know the logo, but its like a crossroads sign. You know that time in your life when you think, I know, and I am going to run my own night, playing my own amazing taste in music, supported by my dj friends. = I screenprinted t shirts, flyposted and put out thousands of flyers. The icing on the cake was a 'friend' giving me a brotherly hug, telling me to keep the faith, after wrapping my banner, which I had sceenprinted myself, about 25 metres, around himself, to steal it. The night folded after about three weeks.

The Mighty Ryeders - Help Us Spread The Message
Hi Folks If anyone could help with a bit of knowledge share here I would appreciate it. I have a copy of the above Lp on Sun- Glo Records SG 456. From reading various forums,SS included, it seems that the second press of this record is distinguished by the track 'Evil Vibrations ' slowing down in the final few seconds. However mine plays ok to the end ? FULLERSOUND is stamped in the deadwax and the cover is thin cardboard, not pasted. I'm not used to selling records,I only buy ! ,but would probably say that that is in excellent condition, a few very minor inaudible surface marks and a little bit of ringwear on the sleeve. If anyone could give me a current value for this Lp I would appreciate it. Basically, does any member have a 2nd press which plays ok on 'Evil Vibrations', or could mine be a first press which will affect the value considerably. Yours Nick.
