  1. Whoops! that wasn't a bad guess then.
  2. I think in todays market £800 to a grand for a minter.
  3. This is going to become a huge problem, as the postal charges continue to escalate. If as a seller you want any kind of security, signed for, tracking etc. the costs are huge. For cheap 45's from abroad, it's just not worth it. I recently won a record from the U.S. and it cost me my full bid. So it was already close to the value of the 45. I couldn't believe my eyes when I got the invoice and the postage was $32.00. That was most of my profit gone right away, but I payed it rather than get into an argument with the seller. Guess what? that was four weeks ago and I still don't have the record. When I sent him a polite enquiry about the 45's whereabouts, he had forgotten to post it. Still not got it.

  5. Sounds great to me, and very good quality. I'm not alone either, that's a lot of money for an acetate that is just a little different from a very easily aquired 45. Be a very nice thing to own though.

  10. Never liked it, sold two, one a few weeks ago for £250, but was very hard to sell at that. CM has deffo had a lot of copies in the past. Madness price on JM's but it ain't all roses when you have to pay his percentage. What does he charge now 20%?
  11. How much is this worth on the original?
  12. Me and Karl used to play a fair few instrumentals when I ran Burnley. They have to be good though, the old type with big string productions just sound so out of date now. They aren't easy to sell though, I've been trying in sales but with no takers. I must say though the atmosphere in the room when Karl played Gentleman June Gardner followed by Bo Jr. was amazing, still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up when I hear them. The place was proper rocking.
  13. Thanks Rod, but I thought you said no direct links to other web sites?
  14. No offence Darren, but I was told it wasn't allowed to put links to auctions and web sites in this section. How do you get round it please? Just read the rules section and found this - 4 . Ads featuring external links to sales sites should be posted in the Ebay and Website Section
  15. I have a M- Andrea Henry for sale £250
  16. Won't be made unless she can raise the money.........
  17. All 70's records that take 30 seconds before anyone actually sings a note. I have lost the will to live before that and taken the needle off the vinyl. There should be a limit of 2 minutes 30 seconds on ALL songs. [except for that Adele, and she should be limited to 2 min 30 sec per album]. maximum!
  18. Yes, just the white demo was booted. It's a very good repro too. The best way to tell is to look at the dead wax, which is wider on the boot. Also the matrix no. is very lightly scratched in. It is much more defined on the original and very neat.
  19. That's how I have always felt and still do...........I have never been comfortable with the drug culture, and the effect it has on people's behaviour. There's a very dark under current hiding under the friendly exterior, and it's still there unfortunately. Maybe the young ones don't like it?

  24. Please click on the link below, take your time and have a listen to the 45's listed. Some very good dancers and obscure too.
  25. When I sold up [the first time lol] it would be around 1975 I think. I got a list printed up, and advertised in Blues and Soul, and Black Echos magazines. The very first telephone call I got was from Mike, he came to my house, and he bought the majority of my big tunes. We had a really good rapport, and I enjoyed his company as we played and talked through my collection. He made a very good impression on me, and I instantly liked the man. I was very saddened to hear of his death not long after. It was indicative of the times that I was informed that Mike had committed suicide. I am glad to hear that wasn't so. I always doubted it myself, as the guy was full of life and obviously loved the music. Judging by the quality of tunes he bought from me, he was obviously really going for it, in terms of becoming at top Dj. Very sad he never got the chance.
