  1. Oh goody, does that mean there'll be an end-of-tour partyyy?
  2. Any luck guys? I'm still "Intrigued" ...sorry!
  3. Used the original master when repressing?
  4. Yeah, like you really needed persuading Kev! ...mate of mine picked up a Patrice Holloway "Love and Desire" Canadian Capitol only recently for peanuts off ebay, seller mis-spelt the artist and it was the only record in a bunch of stuff...and a minter as well!
  5. Can't scan at the moment, but if it helps the first boot was plain white with black print, don't know if there's a more recent lookalikey?
  6. My memory is shot Steve, can't remember whether I ended up with yours...if not I had the LP and a mate had the 7". Age huh?
  7. That, sir, is a brilliant post - best laugh I've had in ages! Now to immerse myself in some quality soulful house and make up a shopping list...
  8. Are you sure it came out on the red CSP series? Can't recall that one!
  9. I hope you're right, but I thought they were done around the time of the Torch!
  10. Resurrecting this thread as I'm playing this on t'radio at the moment, the grey is a legal repress from about '73. Forgotten how powerful it is!
  11. The first lot of boots of this and Jerry Fuller "Double Life" came in Challenge sleeves - were those sleeves boots as well?
  12. How long did that take?
  13. Looking at the rather nice demo on JM's auction, it has the London American "scroll" script at the top. Now I've only ever known the boxed logo on issues, and I thought I bought mine on first issue. Does a "scroll" issue exist, or were they using up old style blanks on demos at that time?
  14. Never been much good at it, plus the asthma stops me now, but believe me I'm dancing in my head all the time I'm doing a spot!
  15. Wrong....it has to be Cheltenham and Gloucester!!
  16. Spellbinders bargain of the day, class tune! (had to check with a mate that he didn't want it before I posted, get in there someone!)
  17. No, your ears are safe, I always thought that the Atco release was mastered slower than my Jam issue...unless we're both suffering?
  18. Thanks Pete, that made me smile!
  19. Did similar back in the 70's with the Soul Fox Orch "Thumb a ride" as soon as I got the proper version - ceremonially, in public, while doing a set at the old Civil Service Club nights in Cheltenham!
  20. My first was Rita Dacosta/Stagemasters from Pep in 1973, still got it, and for authenticity (!!) it came complete with the Catacombs office stamp on the labels!
  21. Either way you'll have people looking over your shoulder...
  22. You want trivia Kev? "The 81" was played on the first day of broadcasting on Wonderful Radio London (quite topical with the Boat film doing the rounds at the moment) - don't know if it featured in the test transmissions, but they must have brought it over on the "Galaxy" from Florida. Imagine doing the 81 at sea... All the best Hippo.
  23. Jerry Hipkiss posted a post in a topic in All About the SOUL
Correct I think - the "Bootleg mix" then appeared on the flip of the official 33rpm 7" single. Another one - Garfield Fleming on a red label boot with James Masons "Sweet Power" and a couple more, picked up in London late 80's/early 90's.
  24. John, is Twin Hits related to Hits in any way, as Ritchie Brown came out on that? Also Black with silver writing - not that that means a lot!
  25. I never made it any further than 69....
