  1. Silly boy, do you think that Flynny hasn't already thought of that?
  2. No, it's Peter Hamilton Generation - Hey girl, on Jamie...originally covered up as Doni Burdick - Clouds, by Richard in the late days of t'Casino.
  3. Dug out the light blue vinyl copy of "Keep your hands" to play on air yesterday - it has a pressing plant stamp which I can't make out on the official "a" side only. BTW also dug out Butch baker "Fat man" to play and guess what's scratched in the runout? The name of one Johnny Mack!
  4. Good version, and don't forget that it's not the first female version - Vicki Sue Robinson covered it in '76 on RCA...

Never seen that "Special Products" one before - I always assumed that the lower one was a legal repress for the NS market, but as we all know assumptions are dangerous things!
  6. I'll second that!

Agreed Steve - I only ever knew him by his proper name!
  8. Picked up a UK Direction copy a couple of years back for a tenner - forget your double sided demos, you've GOT to have "I just can't wait any longer" in the collection!

Without searching for the old thread, AFAIK the TMG580 issue with the original words was the mono take, the stereo take has the different words and this was the one used for the reissued single and - am I right? - all the subsequent reissues. Hippo.
  10. ...never got 30 quid for my chopper...
  11. Frightening isn't it? Found an old Clarky list from 1980, Vault issue for a fiver!

Haven't heard that name for years Graham!

Haven't seen him in decades - good sort, first met him when me and my girlfriend were walking along the seafront at Torquay, cassette player pumping out one of Steve Smiths tapes, so that would be summer '73, met him at The Cats, Wigan and all points North for some years after that.
  14. Pete was an important part of the Yate scene, but as far as I know didn't DJ there - unless it was a one-off on one of the very few nights I missed! Hippo.
  15. Worth checking the Keith Powell compilation on Sequel as well - some of the duets are on there but as I'm at work I can't remember if "You don't know..." is included. Back in '66 I used to love their "When you move you lose" (still got the 7") - I never even knew of, or heard, the original Otis and Carla version until last year!
  16. Been playing "In the open space" from this Cd for a week or two now - good old fashioned Jazz-Funk!
  17. That's very philosophical Brian, I still awake in a cold sweat regretting selling some singles in 1981...
  18. Aaargh...I was reading about this only last night, what is this, an exam? I think there's actually two pressing plant stamps, the ARP mark and, IIRC, Nashville Matrix. What time is it in Tokyo? Come in Flynn-san! Jerry.
  19. That was Steve "Siz" Sayles I think...always loved the story of that big find, written in Dave McCadden's inimitable style, in Manifesto some years back, along with a great one from steve G about Picos!
  20. Another question answered ...I always wondered if all the copies of the LP came in a plain sleeve (like mine!) Jerry.
  21. Blimey! Never knew that Pete...you live and learn (smug glance at my multicoloured deffo original issue... )
  22. Beat me to it Benji, a new one on me!

    Thanks for that Guys!

Played this yesterday, cracking Mike Terry/Jo Armstead production on Tetragrammaton, probably my favourite version of an oft-recorded song...but on googling I see a mention of it on Polydor (UK?). Anyone got one or know of a UK issue? Hippo.
  25. Steve, I still have an EMI of Mark Johnson/Stagemasters with the Cats stamp on it, came from Pep. And as for PP Arnold, I heard it on my only trip to the Torch (pretty sure you were on the coach as well): the next night I was Dj'ing at the Spa Lounge, went through their collection and found a copy. Played it to death for a while till Dave Chamberlain nicked it, took it oop north and sold it! Hippo.
