A Few For Sale
This is on the Avco Lp as well- I think 3 45s were released from this album. 1973 I think Midtempo most of them- I dont have time to worry- is nice but only worth a fiver- The Lp is not easy to get in good condition although not very rare. My favourite of Little Anthomy is "If I loved you" on UA - sheer class

Postage From America
How do you get the time to buy records when you cannot be bothered to send records back to people that you owe? Ive waited months for the 2 records you owe me and all I get is excuses and I dont have the time because Im working - Well you have the time to bid on ebay so get the 2 records you have stolen back to me. No body deal with this person until I get my 2 record back. They are not worth an awful lot but its the principal of the matter and technically as he has nevere returned the records he has stolen them iMO

Acoustic Sounds
Bought this LP blind - Described as Gospel Soul- had a music clip and thought not bad really. Anyhow it arrives and its got some interesting tracks on it- Nothing fabulous to play out but a couple of potential danceable tracks with the only downside of mention of God or Jesus! It is a New Jersey/Newark credit on it but then what caught my eye was the name of the lead Vocal- AL Mason The Lp dates from the late seventies and its on Savoy records. There are photos of the group(Accoustic sounds) on the front of the cover but Ive never seen a pic of Al mason so dont know if its the one we all know or just some other person called Al Mason. Anybody else know this LP at all and has anyone a pic of Al mason of good lovin fame Cheers Steve

Know Your Limits
This is avery interesting debate. In the last few years I have been short of cash and bought and sold records to survive. I kept the records I really liked to build avery modest collection- some good tunes and some not so good but hey I worked hard for it! I recently came into to some money and gues what apart from an acetate I paid £200 for I havnt bought anything big. The reason is Im too scared to start shelling out for records that might turn up in quantity at any moment even If I love them to bits and to be honest I like the idea of buying something for $10 selling it for £10 and then buying a record for that same tenner. You get a great deal of satisfaction out of it. So my limit is a psychological one rather than monetary. Regards Steve

Happy Once Again, Decent Ebay Wins At Last
Ive got the Johnny Green & his green men- I love the b side - My little green thumb Its in my play bos but not sure If I could play it as the production is weird. The music is loud until the vocal comes in then it dies abit and whe the vocal stops it raises up again. Still love it though!

Billy Woods
I work in the risk management business. I am sure I would only take risks based on empirical evidence not based on perceptive risk. Buying a record for 3K without the empirical evidence is a huge gamble when the empirical evidence suggests that 240 of them could still be out there! By the way John I used to work at Global so I know abit or 2 about trawling through records!
-
Ray Agee
Whats this worth in mint minus cond?
-
Billy Woods
So the question is? Is someone shelling out 3k for the rarity value or the song value? Its not rare because as said in first couple of posts Mr Anderson saw 250 and 240 could still be available- I seem to remember a thread afew weeks ago that said we should change the treminology from rare to difficult to obtain! Forget the reminiscing as I have some horror stories from Global that Im not 100% sure happened so I ask again whats the 3k for the song or the rarity or whatever we now call it!

Prices - What The Hell Is Going On?
NO they are not taking the Micky - This guy was famous because he had severe disability- The person who lived with him in an learning disability institution recognised that he could understand him when he spoke but the Nurses could not. Joey was not mentally handicapped at all he was physically disabled but had always been treated as mentally handicapped because every proffessional said that he spoke babble when infact it was the proffesionals who were handicapped because thay could not understand him I met him once many years ago when I visited the hospital he was staying in. Very bright chap who did a lot for people with dissabilities - so no! It is not a wind up. Long Live Joey Deacon (Sadly passed away)
