  4. Hi Aid The pub singer was a record I played on BIR It was called "You are the honey for me" - By Jimmy Pendleton on Julie records out of New Jersey. The backing track is brilliant but the singer is so out of tune its unbeliveable but somehow it ooozes real Soul! I was castagated by listeners for playing it but a few then contacted me on SS asking more about it. Its very rare indeed.
  5. 2012 - Lots to say but too little time to say it! Health has been up & Down but hopefully better now. Retire in 9 weeks! Not been to may Soul nights this year but probably alot more in 2013 Highlight for me was doing BIR (banbury Internet radio)- What a great laugh it was especially the Pub Singer record! and Ive even been asked back Beaver and all! 8. I met him only a couple of times and was on the end of as Ian knows the incident at the Mecca Well Ian was on the end of it I just happened to be standing too close. My first meeting I cannot remember when, was I was very young and bought some records off him only to find out that out of the half dozen 3 were boots. I think I complained to Richard S about it and the next thing was I had my money back but I never got any more records from him because I had complained - the other three were originals and pretty nice too! So I probably shot myself in the foot by complaining- so then I had to buy off Kev R if I wanted something I couldnt get from Global! I remember as a youngster I was in Awe listening to his knowledge as I was knowledgeable but not enough to compete with him in a conversation so I just stood there listening while he had conversations with others. One of the Characters of the Scenes in the 70s.

  20. NEVER thought this record was special and asking 5K for a record in that condition is a joke- & Please remind me as the site is suggesting that it went for £10K at some point! Its like asking 5K for the Mel britt acetate even though it was unplayable - at least sense prevailed there!
  21. I quite like Corrine Drewery's version of Am I the same girl- The arrangement is brilliant!
  22. To answer the question - I prefer Happiness is Version of I'll always Love my mama as opposed to the Intruders version and I dont know which version came first BOBA might be able to tell me as he is familiar with the band (Happiness is) and Phil Orsi
