IN my opinion he doesnt have a realistic view as regards to prices as a seller- Hes offered me records after I have been the high bidder but not made the reserve- However as said hi prices on the offer are way out of touch. EG if I bid 60 quid on a record and it didnt make the reserve but the book guide was say 150 instead of him saying Ill let you have it for 85 he wants the full 150. The decline was a no brainer!
  2. Yes but we wont go there. I hope the guy does sell them and as hes on here as Pete Says he will have a good idea of value and what the least is he will accept- The problem is when you need money even your lowest what you will take will be tested.
  3. Is it that rare Pete?
  4. Theres a few in there that are decent - Victors demo - Garnet Mimms UK Issue / Gene Mcdaniels Uk issue - Incredibles Uk issue Barons / Jackie lee /Sam & Bill/ Evie Sands But most look like boots/ reissues
  5. When it came out I think it sold enough to get just into the top 50 - I remember it being on the radio a lot and the local record shop I used to go to had loads of issue copies! Just realised that could have been the Mojo copies in 1970 rather than the MGM copies Its so long ago but Im sure It was 67 when I kept hearing it!
  6. A pink demo - MMMMMMMMMMMMM Nice!

  9. An old saying given to me over 25 years ago! " Some people think they are thinking changes when they are merely re-arranging their prejudices"
  10. So Rich? what about people like me! I was one of the Mecca Chelsea pensioners - Loved the scene in the 70s /early 80s but didnt live just on oldies and was one of the people who were looking for new even new releases at the time. I then get out to return just over a dozen years ago but then hooked up with the current developing scene rather than just looking at the revivalist aspect . Their are people who will never accept the 1000s of records that have been found played since what was termed as the Golden days- have been on the scene constantly since the 70s and will only accept the Golden Oldies - How do you class those people as they would argue that was the only true Northern soul scene(I dont subscribe to that view by the way). The only ones I have a gripe with are those who criticised certain promoters for straying into the " too many Newies / Crossover/Unknown" area and only wanted the Golden oldies who are now playing to the global audience that they have embraced the very thing that they were criticising only 5 years ago! I call them Hypocrites!

  12. Yes Pete I agree -It was my fault for not quoting the previous post- If I had quoted Wiggys post it would have read different - I wasnt questioning your quote about the 100 I was questioning Wiggy that if most were in collections the chance of KR having a box of them would be pretty slim!
  13. Nice one Mark - I pictured myself back at Wigan with that lot
  14. NO Joan - I bloody love it! You know I love you babay!
  15. No Pete Youve misunderstood - Most copies (Of the hundred count) are probably in peoples collections therefore it would be pretty strange if Kev Roberts had a box of them! Thats what I meant! I now see why youve replied - If I had quoted Wiggyflat then you wouldnt have replied! I am in agreement with you & as I said in the scheme of things its therefore pretty rare! You never know it might become as popular as the Little Anthony and I can sell it for an inflated price (Not!)
  16. I had one of the Human league like that as well which was weird as I think that was on Virgin which would back up your theory Pete of low stocks I know I had UFO - Doctor Doctor on styrene with the small hole Also had one by Funkaldelic the same - That was on Warner Bros God this is taking me back!
  17. Yes Pete I remember the Blondie ones and lots of other pop records Especially on the Chrysalis label! You could be right about stocks low!

Pete Theirs no bids on it and to be honest the guy is a dealer I think as Im maybe just about to buy an acetate off him for around the 100 quid mark when he wanted 250 for it. I agree 50 quid record IMO
