  1. Not to offend or to be prejudiced to anyone nor even Sean specifically. But in these pathetic day and ages of glorified me, myself and I through tintenet where ANYONE can stand on the stage under the spotlight and claim their passion of and/or for music, records or themselves; words count ! me as a dj above everything else that I’ve done it’s breaking this record week in week out when no one else was playing it and making it what I think is a monster today Those are ALSO his words ! The ones that started the fuss.
  2. To shout to be the FIRST to spun any record is... 🙊 And evidently never TRUE ! Vindicative Selfie Fake News ? 🤢 To claim to be the 'first' to highlight a record on a NOrTHErN SOUL dance floor can be something 🙄 Maybe... If ever.
  3. Interesting. I'll ask Toto and report on here if he replies to my text message.
  4. Is this release also a definite 'Marginal' release ? I mean as in full imported from Belgium for certain ? I know for fact that some British threatened to simply 'bootleg' copy and sell on those Belgian CD's who where using some materials that where legally leased under Belgium law but that some Brits paid the copyrights for on their side of the Channel... As I said before different National legislation on the matter somehow infringing 'Imported' materials issues... And while at it why not add some 'bonus' tracks recently brought to light...
  5. Belgian bashing HeY ? 😉 Teasing here. Well I must admit I'm a bit lost in there as to what is legit between the different policies in regards of Publishing Rights of different countries and their State Control Agencies if ever. Anyway I don't bother since those are CD's. Toto of Marginal Records always pressed me to promote his CD compilations outside Belgium. CD's that he claimed where totally legit (on Belgium soil only maybe...) but still I was not willing to be involved with. These where CD's in the first place; a format I so much dislike. And because these way too easy reissues things are polluting the market in my eyes being legit or not, I could never have properly promoted such product. In or out of Belgium. Those 80's Solid Smoke compilations mentioned here are something much more worthwhile in my eyes. Mind you I bought these pre-internet days. So not so utterly 'relevant' to own by todays standards and new ways to hear the unknown sides.
  6. Nope only one and a half that ! Noticed after 'givemesoul' posted a YT "split" playing first 'that's how' & then 'never over'... 😉
  7. OK, I'll jump on this one with an "easy" one of her; still my ever favorite from what I've always found to be her most intuitive period through all her career that no one can dare to cover without fearing to sound pale in comparison (as it was done 😖).
  8. OK, a reversed label with alternate takes maybe...
  9. One can see in the YT video that under the tune title "tape over" the original printed title has been crossed out with a large pen. So this copy came with some un-corresponding label catalogue number on this one (219-2567) and the given timing 2:53 are not corresponding to yours. So this is actually what seem to be some misspress of some sort that features another take of the 'something you got' tune. You can post a comment to the original YT poster and ask him further informations like what is the title crossed out under the tape and scratch in wax matrix.
  10. OK, so my guess is that it's Daniel Goldstone on lead with the Deceptions version on Brooks where while at it he also takes the composer's credit. Where the Black & Blue copies credit a Duke Hall for the composition. Likely some copyright/ownership issue came here as to who the song truly belongs to. The Black & Blue single on Mercury is a also "Game Productions" involving Duke Hall and dates from 1970. So likely very close and seemingly pre-dating their small success with 'of all the hearts' on Game. Where the Deceptions single given date is 1972 (Discogs open source entry) and the following materials of Sire Goldstone all post 1972...
  11. As much as I always find it interesting to live, ear and learn (intellectually) past beyond my opinions and taste (moral and passion), I still find the Deceptions version way too weak and pale in comparison. Where the Black & Blue on Game are there rock and solid on every side; POWER record !
  12. Yes, Solid Hit SH-102 with 'loving you takes all of my time' on the flip. The later SH-104 release came backed with 'I'm on love again' as it was issued in the UK on Track.

  15. That's because they use/share the same backing track but they are not the same tune nor do they sound "alike".
  16. Butter knife 🥰 ?
  17. The original NY version to Patti Young frantic stomping Detroit's treatments... Slight label wear and vinyl faint scuffs. Nothing distracting for the eye or the ear. head marlina.mp3 Scans and sound clip of both sides from actual record for sale. £35 FREE SHIPPING ALL OVER THE WORLD. ADD £6 TO HAVE IT REGISTERED. Grading through M - EX - VG - G... PM me to inquire
  18. Yes same song and composer's credit.
  19. Looking for a SUPER CLEAN near mint PROMO copy. PM me if ever.
  20. GEEZZZ ! I learn everyday. No matter how I never liked Judy "Street" tune/version... Glad am I to know now it was a cover from... Melinda Marx !!! ... Somehow. Fool/stubborn ear that I am, glad still I am to learn/ear even what will even not (unless guilty secrets) suit my ears. But then... It's not so bad to live and learn... 😉
  21. Economic speculative methods since modern 'Finance' (20th Century !) still rule, and there are many (still raging sadly) of 'massive destruction' proportion that are as insinuative as effective. Even with smaller ingenious crooks who all the same ignore ethic(s) most logically (counter productive) as they hate more so righteous morality (that condemns their crooked ways) !
  22. I get your point but none of the artists in this case are even remotely involved in the composition of the tune to call it their "own essence". So in such case they have all their own "merits" and should be judged evenly IMO. Otherwise I would say that it is indeed a valid point that I do respect.
