  1. I don't know for fact but they do bootleg and re-issue about everything these days so, I wouldn't be surprised...
  2. Another bootleg variation ! Value not much...
  3. Mmh... let me put that in doubt Mal. Didn't kept them 'John Doe' lists since for reference (actual I mean) prices that are now out of date and I'm not "anal" in the Freudian sense either (LOL), but I remember on those early 9T's (colored paper sleeves lists) with 'Flowers' being on his list but rather for £100 region (I think), 'Ruby' on Golden Token £250, 'Bobby Reed' on Bell £40...
  4. To come back on the real matter of have never liked ... Since I started collecting I somehow always knew from scratch when I heard a record for the first time if I loved it or if it was a record I "liked" or to be "re-listened" to. Only after some years, my ears grew "stronger" and I could tell right away if I loved an newly heard tune or not. The "re-listened" to are always there but fewer and for less longer to fall in a category. I never loved a record for it to be a "tune of the moment" and I never acquire/kept a record neither as a "proper" collector should do or DJ. Heart and ears first, mind and wallet second.
  5. Not the best or the most "northern" but every time I hear it plunge me back to that day I attended the 100 Club and that gentlemen Ady spinned his RCA tape discoveries. While dancing my ears were eating every single note of that very singular soul "floater" by Sharon Scott '(putting my heart under) lock and key'...
  6. Jamaican (as USA) music, including Cornell's stuffs; goes without saying (not his UK recordings though), always found favor to my ears when not charting in the UK or anywhere else really but in my heart...
  7. Off course not ! that isn't the case. Just a miss print where the gold ink is missing (two paper stuck together with the bottom one not getting it's gold layer), SOUL16 even states in it's first post that the flip side 'your love keeps drawing me closer' has it's golden layer !
  8. Oops ! Indeed, you're absolutely right ! Cheers for pointing that !
  9. 3 or 4 different cuts; First is the Federal one Then King 6124 (my personal favorite musically and vocally) Couldn't find the 6158 cut so don't know what it is... Then 6202 as YouTube Clip above.
  10. Jackie is the one that 'DID AS DOES IT' for me. Sorry Erma ! I started with Spyder Turner and it still is my N° UNO ! Next to Dena Barnes And Martha Reeves...
  11. WHAT WAS THAT ??????
  12. 13. OK, I can be wrong. No denial about that ! But why would she suddenly sing ? Had she prefer never to win the public admiration for her hidden secret tallent as a real singer with a voice that showed little if not more (or some) power, depth and even breath leap ? While all of her other materials before and after sounds more like "brat talking" ! She was indeed recognized/popular for that and maybe a better fit as a guaranteed $ recipe... In the video of 'soul a go-go' she's not even lip-synking where she is on the prior recording 'I know something'... Even all the talk around her career is mainly about her dancing 'go-go' girl figure and lately as a charity struggler... her singing career is never really "hyped" about. Not even by her ! And if it's really the same Lada singing 'the larue' all my apologies and respect to her. Truly !
  14. Well, I always loved the 'the larue' and was happy to discover 'soul a go-go' when I first acquired the 45. At one time I was told that she was actually 'blond' and therefor could not be considered a "black" soul artist. I couldn't believe my ears since 'the larue' always sounded so "black" to me. But I can be wrong ! When I saw the add/promo pictures for this 45 it all became clear altogether; she was either the "face" put on the 45 to push it commercially or the 45 was her singing talent "credibility" bought argument. So we can understand that the 'the larue' b/w 'soul a go-go' was very likely specially credited to Lada as a "credibility" 45 (part of the deal or not to ruin the deal in the end) where she was maybe involved (as composer with Eddie Singleton) but left/put aside for her singing abilities... and replace by we don't (can't) know who ! In the risk to upset Lada and we don't want that do we ?

  16. £50 is right (high end price), below is good & higher is too much !
  17. Dog rare rare (only as real not as bootleg) and jus' looking good = my fave !
  18. Yes, I've got this totally right. I'll stick to my words up there. Styrene is not automatically "cheap" where vinyl is not always "better", that can't be right. I'll give you that there's a lot of cheap made vinyl that can be very annoying to play. And they made many all over the world since the 6T's, more and more in the 7T's that became dull, ultra static after few plays... Now I acknowledge that indeed styrene inherent life-span (before wear) is kinda shorter than vinyl. This is due to it's "weaker" resistance to mechanical "stylus" friction. but what comes as a major factor when playing them, is the phono set-up you play them on ! Cue burn (on styrene...) for instance is caused by un-proper use with an unfit diamond on. You can not be bothered about what you play your records on and then that's that. But you can't argue that a proper phono set up (doesn't have to be expensive from head to trail) is NOT only an audiophile nerd thing. I also believed for years that it was only a snobbish geek thing to be taught wrong after all. It can be ! It's just not only that. And I do love my good styrene pressings played on my true MONO phono set up. They sound much deeper, airy and tight than their vinyl counterparts! Example; I had a mint Spinners 'I'll always love you' on styrene Motown, it sounded amazing, but I collect them promo & vinyl and so I kept the promo vinyl. But honestly the sound on the styrene was indeed much deeper and airy. Some collect them Motown things on styrene only and that is far from stupid. Now I understand them better. I'm a collector with some collector's reasons which are sometimes... stupid; I just love the rough looks of those Motown promo "block" design logo.
  19. Pink butterfly label variation (cutter) £250-300 and the bold yellow label (rarer) higher £... 'isn't it lonely' is the side for me BTW.
  20. You have indeed two label variations on the stocker; the "classic" atom one and the "plain without logo", but both vinyls I believe...
  21. Never seen yours here above before... I'd say yours is the first "home" made press. Then this one under the banner of 'Ideal records' (who ever they are) like the "commonly seen" copies where 'you made me mad' became the 'B' side !!! Maybe that's the why ?
  22. Mind you that there are 2 different mixes on Tarpon. One that builds up (the better one IMHO) and the "more" straight cut. The Chess is even another take... The Tarpon's different mixes can be visually identified with the matrixes and not by the color of the label (blue or green) I've been told. I'm not so keen on the song so I've never really bother to dig deeper in it. Inquire some if ever...
  23. Home made I'd say !
