  1. I would add a second word, unsurprisingly. Lets face it she never had a great voice, therefore time will only diminish it.
  2. I havent been clubbing for ages, but have still listened to lots online and I have no idea what the total is. The one thing I would say is trying to come up with an accurate figure now seems near impossible given the different genres that now, whether rightly or wrongly, fit under the Northern heading. I don't necessarily buy into it was played at a Northern do, therefore it is Northern. If that is true, Glenn Miller recorded Disco/Jazz/Funk way ahead of its time.
  3. If I know I bought a bootleg, what is actually wrong in selling it as a bootleg. I wouldnt be attempting to con anyone just sell it at the going rate. I fully understand OVO in terms of playing put, but does what people do at home matter? Just curious.

I can never decide if Terry or Bill Withers were the nicest man in music. Both came across live as totally sincere. You would love to have had a pint and chat in a pub with them.

Massive in the modern rooms. Saw him at Caister and the Jazz Cafe, brilliant live.
  7. Interesting, similar in that niether fully delivered, but great to watch at their peak.
  8. In terms of the teams absolutely. An interesting summer ahead, re Chelsea's new owners, how many players leave and what will their buying power look like. Also if Man U are outside of the top 4, can they attract their main targets. Add in Newcastle looking to upscale, the top 4/6 becomes just as hard as this year. Arsenal will need to buy as not being in Europe this year has helped them. Will Conte stay? Will my team West Ham lose Rice and Bowen. If so will need at least 5 new players, hard to get exactly what they require, especially as last Summer's buys all look poor now.
  9. As ever too quality soul, some absolute classics Sam Dees, Margie Alexander, Sharon McMahon, 100% Pure Poison interspersed between lesser played and some unknown tracks, to me at least. Complete aural pleasure to take your mind off the wider world for a couple of hours.
  10. I'd still rather have the points in the bag but the City/Liverpool clash to come could be massive. City just need to learn that all out attack, and forgetting degence, for the whole game isn't always the best way to win a game.
  11. Just caught up with this some classic memories.
  12. A great 2 hours Chris with some gems from BazM included.
  13. PFunk gigs we're definitely an event, Saw them at Hammersmith utter madness, started so early half crowd not in yet. One nation live was monumental.
  14. Good choice, enjoy yourselves.
  15. Top quality sound
  16. I'd forgotten about Terry Caller at the Jazz Cafe, a great shout. Possibly the nicest man ever to make music.
  17. Saw Tops/Spinners that year, top stuff.

  20. This takes me back. Purchased the Dells LP, cheap, whilst visiting girlfriend of the time in Tours/France. That didn't last long but LP still on the shelf. Can't say it is the best track on the LP but it is my favourite version
  21. Mick, how about the following to follow Frazelle
  22. One for the valentine's show. You Bring Me Joy - Anita Baker
  23. I think this thread is a good idea, just 21st century version of an advert in Blues & Soul for the Mecca/Wigan/Cleethorpes back in the day. Shame Surrey is so far away.
  24. Love this, reminds me of Gil Scott Heron which is no bad thing
  25. John Edwards does it for me
