Tony got me and most of my friends into Northern, we were all younger Mods at school, I mean all my mates brothers and their mates went to the Rigger on sunday nights, and we watched them drive off as it were, come 85 we were all going on a Sat day session which Tony did and Sunday nights... Spent my youth being chased from the Rigger around town by Rude Boys and Zulu's and any visiting army of football fans, I still hate football to this day!! cant stand Rude Boys and two tone!! Laughs Remember John Weston, as he knocked about with Paddy and adrian Peddley from the E types, I dont know the guy...we all started to go to the Old Vic etc from there as well as the Conessours nights and Sinattras in Brum also.. also made my first trip to the 100 club with tony, paddy, rich and me... think that would have been 87.. Only thing was not to go to one of the other clubs Tony liked to frequent after the rigger.... Laughs Great memories Mal.C.

For crying out loud, why don't you give it a rest... What's with its got to be the biggest thread and all that? every time I take a look at your thread, I never understand what any of you are talking about, there is never any context...and it always seems to be you arguing with other members.. Why Bother? why don't you just post up a link to a blog or something? As far as I can tell, you just like arguing with people.. Mal.C.
  7. Think manships site has dates on the right sleeves, here's one, does anybody have any info on Aussie releases and the corresponding sleeves?? now that is hard info.. Mal.C
  8. Classic release is deemed rarer, and was only issued in Mono by the way.. Check Ebay as a small batch of both releases has turned up from one seller, I will check as I just bought the Classic release last month..Pearce release is rare on issue I think, you see a fair amount of White Demo's but orange issues dont come up allot, given this recent find I'd go with the classic as rarer, especially as I've never seen a Classic demo???? anybody? Mal.C.
  9. I Like this Paul, and kikki dee - magic carpet ride... Yuth Club matey!! Mal.

yeah what's the deal with this going for silly money, I mean a £100 ?? its not worth more than $20 - $30 surly? Mal
  11. Just got the Freddie North - I've got to Hold Back on Abet for Christmas, off my Father in Law of all people!! One of Kents best CD's me thinks. Mal
  12. Totally agree, that last Yodi one just released is fabulous... m
  13. I'm Very happy to report that the Yodi CD is now out!!!!! via the Numerogroup: www.numerogroup.com Rob Sevier has just sent me a copy of the CD with features the majority of the released sides, plus a fabulous Booklet with tons of pictures I had never seen before. Some may remember the 3 pager I did for Shades of Soul back in 2005...well I reckon this is now the definitive research done on the label and adds tons to what I had reported on back then..... Comes in CD, Mp3, and luvley Vinyl LP, an essential purchase in my opinion! Enjoy, all you Young Disciples!! www.numerogroup.com Mal.C.

I absolutely love Alfie Davidson, Brilliant record which takes me straight to 1986, my last school disco's and attending my first scooter rally in Margate where I bought the SOS single and my first Paddy Smith... Great memories..!!! Was never that keen on Greg Perry, find it a bit boring really. Mal.C.
  15. The track somebody has posted up is the inferior version with dodgy organ through out, you want the Promo on 7" for the better version.....I Got mine direct from the guy who bought the stash of 45's direct from Carrie and husband Bill, story goes that she hated the vocal on the promo, hence it never went anywhere.. Picked the LP in the same visit, which is in demand in that city with the Disco collectors for another track... see you have ERNIE JOHNSON & the Soul Blenders up there, just got my copy, fav track this year for me that one...! Mal.C.
  16. has it gone? mal

Fabulous track this, one of my favorites, the flip " Is it Something you Got" is a cover of the Tyrone Davis track of the same name, still a great recording in its own right.. Two for one here! Mal.C.
  25. He's alright, bought loads of him in the past...he can be expensive so just make him a decent offer I suppose.. otherwise beat a path to either Rocky Ricardo's or over the road, Groove merchant both on Haight street, San Francisco, I got mine from there some years ago, he may have more as I think he's the guy who prized copies from the band member mentioned earlier, but don't quote me on that!! Groove Merchant 687 Haight Street San Francisco, CA 94117 U.S.A. Tel/Fax (415)-252-5766 Good Luck my friend!! Mal.C
