  1. From memory Richard I don't think it is, but I'll check it out tonight if no one else replies.
  2. La Mont Johnson did other related rare New York things, I seem to recall there was a subsidiarty label of Down East!!! I have one somewhere on a WD but it's one of them abbreviations of several names.....I'll have to dig it out later. Two issues of Justin with different B sides is another slight mystery.... Have never seen a Musicor copy.
  3. Oooh yummy Detroit 70s / 80's. Please add these: JMC 113 Mack & Nina Reunited/ I. ( I have two records No 113 the other one as above on green JMC) JMC 140 Darnell jackson and Band Love peace and happiness / I. Think I might have a couple more in the lock up but the clocks have gone back and it's too dark to find them now.... Steve
  4. Richard played it on Phil Town as I recall it. The 7th Ave Aviators was played pretty soon afterwards. Why two labels? usual story someone hawking round the masters for release I'd say. Roburt, he also recorded for Gordy just before he died.
  5. Frankie Karl and Frankie Karl I'd say (played at WC by Richard)....same recording though isn't it?
  6. It has a reggae B side from memory
  7. A fantastic achievement by Ace / Kent who have kept the flag flying for a long time with an endless schedule of quality releases.
  8. Mine def black.
  9. Last one on popsike in July was $51, before that $31.
  10. Performing is in the blood of some of these artists, esp. now as there is no record business left now so to speak. For all the huff and puff they love doing it and connecting with their fans. Uncle Burtbach was another one - didn't he have some 'tuneless hippy' groaning his way through "Kentucky Bluebird" on Jools H a few years back, I remember being in awe at how awful it sounded.....Poor old Lou J would be turning in his preverbial grave at this surely? I thought.
  11. I didn't see it, but I kind of guess where you are coming from. Dionne's voice must have dropped at least two octaves since the early 60s. Did you see The Beach Boys on there the other week? Honestly it was lamentable. Much as I don't like their sound I know it was "young and vibrant" and in it's own way exciting -although not for me. Instead what we saw was a bunch of tired old men with practically no voice left strumming guitars on some limp folk-rock twaddle.
  12. Really Dave? Seems to me like a hall is there for public entertainment - unless it's some kind of Quakers meeting house or something - and equipment goes hand in hand with such entertainment. But insurers small print never ceases to amaze me!
  13. Fabulous New York production. Someone snap this up.....
  14. I knew there was a reason I went x directory. Anyway I'm washing my hair between now and December...
  15. Chris if you ask on here and say you can't afford to pay any DJs, I guarantee you'll get at least 50 volunteers......
  16. It's actually a pretty good article for wikipedia
  17. Watch it Chris, they'll already have Liability insurance unless they are complete nutters; what they are asking you to do is get additional coverage to protect theirs in the event of someone falling over on the talc.
  18. Think I am going to close this now. well done to Pete.
  19. Steve G posted a post in a topic in All About the SOUL
It has been done and there are several pages on the thread.....I think heading was Major label rarities from memory....
  20. Don't worry your pretty little head Kegsy , I've already been to the mountain and got all the dross I need thanks.
  21. Andy that's a general info page not her page.....Steve
  22. What's more interesting to me is the Motown albums of the last 15 years that haven't been issued. Frank McComb, Z.Z. Hill's son, Tania Marie etc. Done on CDR promos, then never officially released.
