Course he is.... He also hasn't said he likes it - more like a confession to a past sin

You don't need to be soul police / mafia to diss this tune m8. Just need a decent pair of ears
  4. No, no demos
  5. Steve G replied to a post in a topic in All About the SOUL
You're still waiting then? Don't let the grass grow under your feet

Nah I think you've had a socially dyslexic moment m8. No one agrees with you on this "selection" so cut your losses.....move on....next selection pleeeeez
  7. According to popsike one went for 1700 about 18 months ago - description "its cracked from edge to trail out. I played both sides, and it did not skip. A bit noisy, but very rare".

Feckin awful. I remember when it came out - all the disco club DJs hammered it, it was bad then, still bad now.....move on.....next please!
  9. I found one of these along with Virginia Blakly in LA back in the 80s. Haven't played it for years, though didn't think it was that good at the time.....will need to re-appraise methinks.
  10. Au contraire - My spies tell me that you are "something" on the northern model railway circuit
  11. Huh - what were you doing looking in that section Sean?

Fascinating post Colin....I had always wondered about the Liverpool soul scene, as it never seemed as popular as say M/Chester. Anyway hope you are keeping well..>Steve
  13. Yup Wigan was easier for us down here too. 8.25 out of Euston - change at Crewe, then two stops and we'd be walking up the road at 11.10 pm. E.Z P.Z. Getting back on Sunday was more fun with the engineering works though, we ended up in some right odd places

Last saw him at Randy's funeral...when we talked about Trams and the now sadly disused Kingsway Subway.....Jo Wallace was in that conversation too. Does anyone else remember him at the "Forums" at Soul Essence? Basically he held court in the deep room - sorry Downbeat Lounge - twice I think -and people went in there, asked questions and he answered them. He loved it, sitting at the front smoking away, while people asked him about this and that. I couldn't get over his blue Doc Marten boots though!
  15. When I played this a couple of years ago it cleared the bleedin' floor
  16. I take it you don't stomp or shuffle then Andy? You wouldn't be able to in desert boots or trainers!
  17. Theres loads up on the albums section m8
  18. .....since you put it like that.....
  19. The other side Mark is a stepper classic "Don'cha know". Pretty rare, from the tiniest of places in Ga. They probably pressed 300, sold about 30 and binned the rest.
  20. I am obviously the only other person in the UK apart from you that hasn't seen this ad!
  21. Nothing worse than a sticky dancefloor...aside from crappy music
  22. re McFadden & Whitehead alternative lyrics - I'd be surprised if you found this at a boot fair - unless it was the Philly Phillies annual bring and buy garage sell. It's actually about the Philly Phillies getting to the Baseball world series final. I played this version at the Plinston a few years ago, as a novelty record. Some people loved it, others didn't. The biggest critic was a jazz funk fan funnily enough, Dave Blow from Hemel who said "If I wanna hear that, I'll go to Caister". Sam got his copy sometime later
