  1. Two timin' double dealing' Ah ha caught you cheatin" FANTASTIC oldie
  2. As long as you have places to go with good music, and friendly sincere people it doesn't matter......Anyway the Europeans have a younger crowd, some great DJ's in Germany, Spain, Italy and Scandanavia (don't know about France not been there to a gig yet), so for me it doesn't matter> Although I've been to Oz, USA etc never been to a soul venue there. Steve
  3. I have both green and blue Gator's with FFT on the flip . I always thought this was highly under-rated, and a great sound for today's more funkier edged northern
  4. U sure? I never saw it.....Steve
  5. Sounds like Dennis Coffey or something - seriously unfinished work tho!
  6. "Not on your Nelly" I think is the operative expression here Phil - word on the street is you sold one for "big money" - is this wrong then?
  7. Maceo & macks "Across the tracks" for answers Temps "Cloud Nine" for texts Drives everyone mad
  8. For me probably Carbon Copies on Git Down Records.
  9. Can't remember meself now, think I was upstairs interviewing him and he'd just discovered "God" so he was more interested in telling me about that. Wasn't a bad show as I remember - think the pop you are referring to might be "Hey there Lonely Girl" Steve

  12. Not with all of them on Paul - you'll just have to collect the Original Vinyl
  13. Found this in NO for $5 - feckin awesome record!
  14. Don't think you've ever seen us "eject" a DJ yet have you Bearsy ?
  15. But that's exactly what happened with the Royal Esquires- incredibly rare, until someone found the label owner, who had loads of copies.
  16. ....and the 4 Vandals Phil?
  17. Hmmm not sure I knew that Macca. Must admit I haven't been able to listen to the Snake ever since about 1975 - a truly attrocious record, and have never heard it out....I am sure that if I had, any DJ playing it would have got an Alex Ferguson "hairdryer" "word in his / her shell like" from me Anyway how's the Knight of the Garter thing going? Are those metal chains you have to wear starting to get a bit heavy yet? Also Is Felix still about? Sam wanted to know if our "services" were required next year in Green Spain. Steve
  18. Maybe I did jump on poor old KeithW a bit too hard last night - To me (and plenty of others) groups go way beyond Motown and Motown soundalikes - and this is the area where Ian is expert. When I think groups I of course think Dells, Dramatics, Whispers, Bluenotes etc etc But I also think of names like Commands, Creations, Combinations, Inclinations, Endeavours, Enticers etc. Right across the board from northern to sweet soul. Having read loads of articles and threads over the years, there are a considerable number of people who know an awful lot about groups - for example excluding the dealers - the S Yorks posse (you lot - including John "Soul" Smith in exile), Eddie Hubbard, Tony R, Ady C, D Pearson up in Bratfud, Chalks, D Welding, Butch, Kitch, Rob Thomas, Rixy, Rimmer, some Americans, Terry Davis, David Cole, Dave Porter, Fraser Dunn, Mark Bicknell, Dave Halsall, Paul Thrower, Richard, Paul Phillips and on and on. Nobody knows it all, but a lot of people know quite a bit if that makes sense. Anyway I've calmed down now, so having been slightly more articulate than last night, I will leave this thread alone. Steve
  19. Certainly is good and 'ard as well. I am still having to make do with old Keb's cast off copy with an edge chip
