Yes D'Arcy it is him, he also wrote it....Steve
  2. There was one at Yarmouth - one of the Swedish guys had it

Wow getting close to £1,000. Great tune but who'se fuelling this demand? it's not that rare!! Must be northern oldies jocks or something
  4. OMG you've unwittingly just uncovered one of Soul Sam's cover up's
  5. Tractors, locals, sugar beet lorries, Biggles, Son of Biggles, Morris Minors, Yokels / Bokels and "the Singing Postman" - oh yes we encounter them all on the A47 to Yarmaff.
  6. So is it a genuine one off?
  7. Nope, be at SouL Essence at 9 pm tomorrow and I'll play it

Absolutely B side isn't bad either.
  9. Deffo a New orleans release, and also tied up with Leo Nocentelli of the Meters etc. Fantastic record btw
  10. I am surprised that emailing them didn't work for you. That normally works for me. Stuart isn't there anymore, but Mike still is. They need someone on this, they cannot afford to lose sales like this....
  11. For many years this was a standard £50 seller, and that's what I paid. I haven't seen it around for sale much in the last few years though. There is an album acetate as well with this track on which may be where the 1,000 comes in?
  12. NO Reminiscing has it's place but it's NOT a big part of my life. Just a happy memory.
  13. Yeah they all know DP as a middle of the road, saturday night light entertainment type of artist - bit like a younger Val Doonican would have been over here That's why they sn***** - I really don't like his version......Steve
  14. Soulgirl, I find myself rather oddly agreeing with you for once. I am not really fussed at all about this. And a coffee bar in memory of the place is better than it just being a wasteland. All jokes aside good luck to them - it is highly unlikely that Mrs G or myself will be visiting this arcade anyways. I think it's the Russ factor that causes such negative reaction more than anything, and this constant desire to live in the past.
  15. Has anyone yet mentioned any of the contemporary releases (at the time) which Richard also got behind first, such as: Eddie Holman, Silvetti, Tavares, Leon Bryant, Bobby Thurston "just ask me", Skip Mahoney, Brainstorm etc. OK they might not have stood the test of time as well as the 60's rarities but at the time they were an important component for many of us.
  16. It looks pleasant enough, but the dancefloor looks a tad on the small side?
  17. Yes What am I gonna do was a modern spin early 80's Russ. Steve

Jeepers I didn't realise Blues & Soul was still going ....Says a lot when they publish an essential top 40 - that's something I'd expect to find in the Observer or Guardian or something.
  19. Hey Bromley never used to be like this!!!
  20. Thanks for your input
  21. Oh yes - goes down a treat about 3.30 am. It'll probably also be aired at the Bass tomorow too - top tune Off to search for my stylophone in the loft - I fancy a new version
  22. Clarence Carter - can't stand his voice
  23. Oh I like all of the Sisters Love tracks on A&M, Mowest, Motown etc, I am commenting on the re-recording of the song by IL, not the Sisters themselves by gum!
