What a great post! This was what I was talking about Win.

I'm aware of the negatives of the scene that have been expressed in many recent threads. However, yes the music generally is enough to keep me feeling upbeat. Knowing that whatever venue I choose to go to, there's a good chance I can have a dance and be with like-minded friendly souls. A few beers, maybe come away with some vinyl - that's enough for me to want to keep my hand in indefinitely.

Yes yes yes. We need a shot in the arm of some niceness, I fancy.

I'd voice a few opinions, but hey I'm too young. ps, can we have some upbeat threads in this section soon perhaps?

Fair point. Though thread title does give a clue .. As said summary approach may work better.

Is it? Looking at putting summary news thread in as alternative. May work better. Yesterday's West Ham takeover and today's school's thread seem to have been worthwhile.

I think the news feeds are a good thing for freebasing, as you can check on main stories of the day and have a little debate on given subject if feel so inclined.

Came across this list of 80's ns venues. Makes interesting reading ...

Yeah was written quite a time ago that one, as you may notice by the number of (now) unregistered members! It was a little bit over the top looking back at it. However my problem was that I preferred the music be underground, maybe pure etc to be appreciated by true soul fans. Rather than sold on for a fast buck. Just cheapened it a bit for me and left a bit of a sour and somewhat greasy taste in the mouth.
