  1. You may not have a great taste in football teams, ( ) but you've got a great taste in music Liam! Don't ever lose it - 'keep the faith' as the (now long in the tooth - but fook it) saying goes. In the early 90's some of my mates began to peel away and listen to Indie music - not me baby! If I just had Roy Hamilton & Garland Green records to listen to every day, that'd do me. Great thing about our scene is all are welcome, regardless of age, gender or race. It's probably the way Roy Hamilton (or similar) makes them feel, that is why they're there in the first place
  2. It would seem so. However I'm not sure how active they were on the scene. Linda's Facebook page is still active (bless her) - zero friends in common. There doesn't seem to be an FB page for the murdering bastard Philip Martins.

  4. Just saw this piece in the Mail on line https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2039207/Philip-Martins-charged-sex-murder-solicitor-Linda-Bakewell-Liverpool.html I didn't know Linda, but that's an awful story. Thoughts go out to her friends and family.
  5. Would have been a brave man (or woman stan) to have played that out! It's so unlike the plug side as to be by a different group. I just think they were trying to be all a bit Hermans Hermits with WYOWY, but they seem to have got it rather badly wrong.
  6. I really wanted my 8,000th post to have depth and meaning.. Alas it has come to a grinworthy expression that can only exist in the strange world of northern soul - 'brilliant floater'!
  7. On the evidence of what we've seen and read already, this film is streets ahead of the Soulboy crud and you can't compare it to This England. I mean the footage they had, how they edited it and what they actually put out was such a disappointing diabolical load of old wank.
  8. Sad news, R.I.P
  9. Whenever you hear these requests it's always somebody you've never heard of wants dancers/is making a film/documentary. Net result is always a misrepresented cheese fest! If someone said Nick Brown is making a documentary blah blah, I'd be there like a shot. However history teaches us it's probably best kept short.
  10. Just call those geezers who did the Paul O'Grady show, they'll be up for it. Offer inclusive of Spencers, tank tops & cheese sarns all round.
  11. Sad sad news. Such a unique talent, so many great soulful tracks. They're dropping like flies. Rest in peace General.
