Malaco records. Book
Unfortunately there is no UK source for the book from what I can see and it is expensive for less than 200 pages. The kindle version looks more appealing at £11

Motown 100
Rick James, Rare Earth..Top 100 Motown, really? Some great selections, some not so.

Dean Anderson's Sound of Soul, Thursday 8pm.
- Motown 100
I think "Do What you Gotta Do" is the best soul record the Tops did but ask 100 people and you'll probably get 100 different answers, the same with the the top 100 Motown, count you would get two answers then same.- Bernadette Bascomb "10" Ep latest Izipho
fabulous release, mine landed this week- Motown 100
We have to remember we are not the market for Rolling Stone. The 100 we would choose will be unknown to the majority of RS's readers. The same argument was had with Motown's 60th celebrations, that's why I did an alternative unreleased 60 at 60. As always subjective and very emotive.- HELP ME FIND A RECORD
Took me ages to work out what was different, no one else had ever mentioned the male backing. I play the missed one out now and then, the red label release, one of the great northern sides IMO.- HELP ME FIND A RECORD
the one Butch has, it has male backing....and the instrumental on the flip I think- Dave Stokes. Sad news 😪
Bloody hell the bad news just keeps coming. Terribly sad news. R.I.P. Stokesy- Northern Soul Top 500 Book Re-Vamp - News
Will be an interesting read Kev- Show us your great photos 2021
- Tommy Neal -going To A Happening
Well he certainly didn’t know of a 45 and the first time he ever saw one was Andy Dyson’s at Prestatyn.- Carol & Gerri
Here is a previous topic where Soul-Slider first suggests who Carol may be, a day later it is mentioned on soulful detroit, coincidence!- Tommy Neal -going To A Happening
Don did have memory of Cheatin Kind ad he told us when we went for dinner he sent a tape down to Vanleer and that he never heard back. But you are right the industry, especially back then was full of unscrupulous people, companies and crooks. Knowing Popcorn, if he though some wrong was done he’d have gone after them? I would imagine Vocallion did a deal in good faith and Vault had the rights to license. Unless we see the contract it is all speculation.- Carol & Gerri
I’ve said elsewhere on here that my belief is it is Carol Bayer Sager with a new partner. Given the numbering of Carol and Sherry and Carol and Gerri logic would suggest it is. I did email Carol a few years ago to ask but she didn’t respond, probably a time she doesn’t wish to reflect upon or she didn’t get the mail. I did send it through her site as well.- Tommy Neal -going To A Happening
He did by the looks of it, Ala King is Popcorns publishing company and it is shown on the Vault release as well- Tommy Neal -going To A Happening
Did Popcorn own the rights though?- The Moments - You Said

- Second Rooms at events ?
I voted keep but only because I know it would never work in none room today, as much as I'd like it to- Second Rooms at events ?
Definitely some who got into the groove they left and had the thirst for new stuff. Some moved on later to new stuff but I found the majority were just stuck in the retro trap. I hope that is the case mate but I feel for the majority this past year will be as it never existed and be right back where we left it 🤣- Second Rooms at events ?
It started before then but yes the grand return accelerated it. Most of the returning are brought up on new discoveries, unless they only went for two weeks like many, yet upon their return all they wanted was familiarity. The majority didn't move on as you would expect to wanting something new. - Motown 100
