spencer wigginns-lets talk it over
Chris King paid for the licence in good faith but the owner of Goldwax, Quinton Claunch didnāt own the rights to licence it to Chris as it was a Fame recording not Goldwax. I doubt whoever put the Torch one out got a licence from Fame either. So only Kent totally legit.

I Hate Northern Soul
Well I still love the term, despite it being hijacked somewhat of late. I personally couldn't give a fc8k what the divs say, it the generalisations keep them away then great. Neither do I explain myself to anyone especially to my divvy mates who haven't a clue...which is what I tell them, clueless.

Soul Source guide to record collecting.
Much at all? Probably? It is a bit ambiguous your comment? I know of acetates that are 20/30 years old, played with frequency and still fine. All depends how you look after them.

Record Boxes
There is also a 200 count 7inch really useful box. Has no divider though but if only using for storage then it is fine

Record Boxes
I know dealers who use the really useful boxes with no issues. Obviously with them being plastic you donāt throw them about, plastic breaks. But IMO given the choice between plastic and card it would be plastic every time. I use them for Lps, 45s and cds. The carrying handle is the lid which is clipped on and Iāve never had a hinge clip come away or break. They are a very good product.

Record Boxes
Really Useful Boxes are about the size you are looking for, plastic not card, will last a lot longer. I have a few. https://www.reallyusefulproducts.co.uk/uk/html/onlineshop/rub/b09_0litreXL.php

Soul Brothers Six Move Girl .
Andy definately had a few copies, I remember scanning it, and the Darling Dears, and taking sound files. I seem to remember Andyās came from the states, could be wrong. I thought someone had been at the stock before the rest were shipped to Aus. Again could be wrong, it was 8 or 9 years ago and I have trouble remembering breakfast some days.

New Soul Junction 45 - Robert Montgomery - A Love Song About You
Press Release: Robert Montgomery āLove Song About You/I Love You So SJ540 Release Date: Monday 30th July 2018 Robert Montgomery is a Singer, Songwriter, Performer, Producer, Keyboard and Organ Instrumentalist, who began his music career in his early teens jamming with local bands in his small hometown of Rome, Georgia. The most notable being āThe Sons of Ariesā. Performing their own blend of rock, soul, and jazz, kept them very busy throughout the southeastern states. However, they never gravitated to recording any original material and eventually disbanding. It was then that Robert began to write his own songs. One such tune was the soulful āI Need You Girl,ā a song based on personal experience with his future wife, Emma. By now in his early 20ās Robert was an aspiring solo artist. Hooking up with a crafty local businessman named Jeffrey Jackson Jr, He entered the studio and recorded āI Need You Girl,ā using guys from his former group who were by then called āChain Reactionā. So the song was released on Jacksonās label, Crescent Records, but due to a shoestring budget the 1000 copies pressed were poorly distributed and the song never really achieved any great level of success. Following 12 months on the road with a group called Villaruz, in 1978 Robert moved to Atlanta. Following an invitation to join a band heād heard rehearsing as their keyboard and organ player, Robert began a short tenure with the Michigan funk group āRippleā who themselves had moved to Atlanta upon signing with GRC Records. Ripple recorded several hit singles for GRC including āI Donāt Know What It Is, But It Sure Is Funkyā. Followed by the seminal album āSons Of The Godsā for Salsoul Records in 1977, which featured their perennial disco/hustle classic āThe Beat Goes On And Onā. During a later period of reconstruction by Rippleās band leader percussionist Brian Sherrer. Robert used musicians from Ripple to record four self-penned songs as a vanity project which remained unissued, two of which have since been released as a Soul Junction 45 the modern soul dancers āTime Of The Day/Take Me Highā (SJ537). While a third track, the excellent ballad āLove Song About Youā made itās initial debut as part of the popular āWe Got A Sweet Thing Going On ā (Volume 3) cd compilation series to great acclaim, following requests for it to put on a 45 we have duly obliged placing it back to back with Robertās remaining previously unissued track the more dance orientated āI Love You Soā complete with girl backing singers. Thus in doing so, we have now completed the trilogy of Robert Montgomeryās recording output. New Release - Broken Hearts Inc - Kimberlite Records
I do prefer individual LPs from he groups but I guess that depends on what material they have. The Estimations, will there be a repress or an LP. £60 plus on discogs for a new release, that is what narks me about the limited press new releases, many buy to sell once they are sold out at an inflated price and the collectors miss out. But, keep up the good work!

New Release - Broken Hearts Inc - Kimberlite Records
I meant they aren't promotional, they are for sale for a start and they aren't used to promote. You are right though buyers choice but I'm not a fan of the limited runs of say 300. The cost isn't that much more for 500 or even a 1000. That surely is the best way to make more money? I'd like to see an LP( is one in the future plans Kimberlite?) as that is what I collect these days but I do buy new releases too.

Demos? But they atenāt demos are they, just a way to eek extra out of the collector. Good release mind.

QUIET VENUES - A SIGN OF THE TIMES
That maybe true but if you do a weekend that may well be your budget for the month, maybe two? That will have a detrimental effect on what has been the lifeblood of the scene, all-nighters and to a certain extent your quality soul nights, the ones that make you want to travel not your average night in the back room of the dog and duck or the local flea pit.
