I've had some brilliant nights at The Wilton, heard some fantastic music, many you don't get the chance to hear on your usual nights out. I've seen some fantastic acts, all quality, in one of the best venues around. You should be able to fill the venue with people who live with in a 30 minute radius. Still Richard Caiton had a great turnout who gave him the respect he deserves and showed just how appreciated he is by some this side of the pond. I'd like to thank Dave and Val, also Mouse for his 20 odd year involvement too in the venue, for some brilliant nights out and some great shows. Such a shame they will be no more. It was probably a deliberate mistake with the missing "&" etc and they probably realise there is a demand for wanting reissues on look-a-like labels rather than god forbid getting it on Grapevine. I doubt Don is as bothered as some on here though.

Top man, a true gent as many have already mentioned. Funny and witty, kind and caring. Always enjoyed his company. A sad sad loss. R.I.P. Paul.

When Andy Dyson showed Don the record, Don wasn't aware it had a release. He said he sent some tapes to James Vanleer and that he wasn't aware Vanleer released any of the tracks.

There is a video of JM with a broken copy of this, in it he said he shifted it to IL, when I mentioned this IL in his usual dramatic fashion said not and he discovered it in the US.

Rob Smith has/had one, Andy Dyson, Carl F I think...few more about than people realise.

I find it amazing the lengths some will go to to try and gain a little credibility djing, as said they aren't originals and there has been other reissues before this. They would have more credibility in my eyes Djing with a bunch of cheapies and using some imagination. Ffs you can still buy the Lp and single for 30 euros yet some of these muppets would sooner spend a small fortune off ebay....does paying a small fortune give them even more credibility?

I wouldn't say any variation that rare particularly. Was a load of the mislabelled about at one time and for me it isn't more desirable. I'd sooner have the correctly labelled release. But as you say crazy price for something that isn't that rare.

Sounds great loud in a sweaty club. Butch definately has one.

Robin Salter at Stafford as far as I am aware, sure he will confirm, sure I have it on a list of tracks from Stafford we put together.

The site is to discuss soul music and to celebrate those who sang it, produced it arranged it, financed it and hopefully give these artists some credit and acknowledgment, not celebrate and assist bootleggers. Youtube is where most of these scumbags get their recordings from too, especially the rare ones.

Yeah will get my tickets sorted soon. Saw him at Band On The Wall and it was packed. Saw him the year before inn Leeds and one of th best live acts I've seen that night. Some of his show own my youtube page.

I agree Dave re goldmine but a crack is a crack, mint it maybe but you ain't gonna get mint prices unless someone is desperate...then again there seems to be plenty of those about buying soul records right now.
