  1. I recently had a couple of Lps off him, Vg grading and hardly a mark on them, similar over hear would have been Ex.
  2. I would imagine that is due to copyright. Doesn't it run out in the US after 50 years, that is why Motown issue these before it runs out. Doesn't the copyright last longer here, 70 years???
  3. No, it was a US dealer whose name I forget at the minute. He move to one of the Scandinavian countries if memory serves at one point.
  4. Don't remember it being covered up, Billy Davidson I believe the first to play it around the time of the Berwick Upon Tweed weekenders. How many copies dos you reckon? There was 25 in the little find early 2000s, the odd couple or so about prior to this and those since......
  5. Listening to the first 1min 15 secs there are no pops or jumps and what background crackle etc is gone with the music. Sounds a pretty decent copy for a Vg- grading. His grading does say "MAY HAVE". But like you say it is a lot of money and I would have put a full sound file up or I would want to hear the full file before parting with any money. It isn't like the track isn't out there so a full file wouldn't have mattered.
  6. There was I think 25 from the original little find back in the early 2000's, plus the odd one or two all ready out there and those found since. Still very rare in the grand scheme of things.
  7. If only Brits graded like funkyou......would be VG++ here
  8. Just goes to prove what we knew all along, eBay do not care that it is giving bootleggers a market place. Bootleg the first word in the description.
  9. must be at least £1k
  10. Hi Kev. It would seem Bobby was not one to miss an opportunity to make a quick buck. Certainly got some mileage out of this track. Great record too.
  11. The Zea release (King Of Hearts) was the same line up as the New Younghearts, without checking they were a different line up to the Canterbury group which recorded A Little Togetherness. I had it many years ago, the grey matter is not like it was, is it a newer recording or just another later reissue under the guise of the new group? P.S. Just checked youtube...sounds like a reissue under the guise of the KOHs
  12. I have a VG+ copy, will sort a scan and sound file out.
  13. is this them... https://www.ebay.com/sch/burl*one/m.html?item=391654406493&hash=item5b306bf95d%3Ag%3AcpoAAOSwXAJYWBpV&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562
  14. Can't believe the Esquires is still there, one of the best albums. No bumping of mate's ads please. Surprised Incredibles not gone. ROD PS Oops sorry, wasn't a bump, just genuinely surprised!
  15. Merry Christmas and a Soulful Happy 2017 to you all. Chalky
  16. Well I've heard it at various venues over the last 20 years at least, Burnley, Lifeline, Grumpy, Venue in Birmingham. I don't make things up so you'll have to take my word for it.
  17. Heard Dewey Black quite a few times over the years.
  18. Load of bollocks. There are countless local gigs up and down the country all paying original vinyl. Many are thriving maybe not musically, but certainly socially. There are events to cater for all tastes and styles so you have no reason really to go anywhere you are not going to enjoy the night. Bootlegs are illegal, you may as well play from Cds as in many cases a license has been paid. You seem to forget without those seeking out these expensive and rare records there would be nothing to bootleg.
  19. Tough book to find now, well it was never that easy as it had limited distribution. Think I got my copy from the author so he may well be worth a shout.
  20. Sadly, these scumbags probably do more business when there sales are highlighted. Ebay refuse to do anything about them as they make so much money from them, unless confronted by the lawyers of the copyright owner.
  21. Copies on discogs £65 to £75. Has sold on there for just shy of £69.
  22. Most on em are rare or fetch decent money, odd iffy one. Again I don't see the point of this topic, it more and more seems like a dig at the side of the scene that doesn't conform to playing Wigan oldies?
  23. To me the topic is more a dig at the rare or upfront as it is known side of the scene and venues like Stafford rather than someone playing boots? The oldies side is by and large original vinyl, certainly nationally although rogues will still get through. I would have thought the bootleg Djs are more local. Ever since the scene began and Djs had a thirst for the next new discovery rubbish has been played amongst the quality. There is countless examples of records from all eras that didn't stand the test of time, Stafford is no exception, it had a quite an incredible turnover of records for the time it ran and many scene classics came from that era not the few you intimate, not just Stafford either but venues throughout the 80s into the 90s and beyond, Blackburn, Wilton, I could go on.
  24. You don't sell copies of a rarity like the Delites and let it be known. You'd sell them wisely or most would and maximise profit. Bent as a nine bob note as we say in Yorkshire.
