Big Money, Low Regard
Re-issue my arse. It is a UK issue, (albeit one that was withdrawn) just like Revilot is a US issue.

Darrell Banks - Open The Door To Your Heart 2014 London
I can understand that if it was eBay but there is no advantage with JM as auction gets extended and those you may have beaten on eBay would have time to rebid.

Big Money, Low Regard
Something we do agree on.

Big Money, Low Regard
The 1st, 2nd, 5th........20th time maybe, but over thirty years of constant hammer? They say familiarity breeds contempt and this is a classic example. Besides it isn't in the same league as Darrell Banks.

Darrell Banks - Open The Door To Your Heart 2014 London
Given the interest this has generated I would imagine any serious bidders would have got their bids in rather than take a chance on the final seconds.

Darrell Banks - Open The Door To Your Heart 2014 London
It was pobably all the people on topics like this viewing the auction and constantly refreshing their web page that caused any crash.

What was covered up as The Dream Merchants, you lost me lol

Stanky - Billy Davis Talk (Split From Orig Thread)
I have it down as a Pat Brady spin at Stafford, covered up as Walter & Admerations. I know others say it was Pat as well.
-
Stanky - Billy Davis Talk (Split From Orig Thread)
It was played at Stafford, covered up by Butch in the upstairs room, I have Butch's playlist for the last night of Stafford in which he played it, so that is one night at least. The flip was played at Wigan apparently by Pat Brady.

Stanky - Billy Davis Talk (Split From Orig Thread)
No it isn't all about who played it where or when. You may have been about a long time, you were also pretty inactive for some time too on the nighter scene and the club scene, especially up north, you missed a lot as did Phil. Going by the time scale you and Phil were spouting off about, I said it was already known and had plays before 4/5 years ago.

Darrell Banks - Open The Door To Your Heart 2014 London
Well I was told it was bought by someone in Hull for his girlfriend who wasn't really into soul. They then later split up? Where it is now, dunno.

Stanky - Billy Davis Talk (Split From Orig Thread)
I don't regard Lifeline as anything.speaks for itself. As I said just because you or a few others hadn't heard it doesn't mean others hadn't. You had a long time off don't forget.

RIP Freddie Houston
Sad news. R.I.P. Freddie.
-
Stanky - Billy Davis Talk (Split From Orig Thread)
Wha tyou don't get though is that just because Fred was the first to play it at Burnley doesn't mean it was known or indeed played by others elsewhere. It was already selling for a ton or just under at the time and played elsewhere at the tme and prior. Some people do like to rewrite history. The record was crap years ago, it is no better now.

Top 500 'fans'...look Away Now
Andy plays Cressa Watson version, not many known copies. I would also have thought Ravins, Henry C would also be popular for Andy. i also realise it is just a guide and not everyone will agree just as I don't agree with some of the crap that is number 1 in the pop charts.

Motown Unreleased 1964
Yes you are probably right. I read that is the reason the Beatles released a bunch of unreleased and alt. takes as they would have been out of copyright after 50 years. Once released you retain copyright and control and obviously any royalties due.

Which Robert Thomas are you talking about, Salvation?

Top 500 'fans'...look Away Now
I would imagine the likes of Frankie Beverley, Invitations, Major Lance, Tangeers, couple of Gene Chandler, Pookie Hudson, James Barnett and plenty of others are far more popular across the country than the likes of Johnathon Capree, Billy Davis, Soulutions

Top 500 'fans'...look Away Now
40 plus years of music and it all boils down to 20 records that have been hammered for much of those 40 years, it is depressing. Many of the 20 are the staple diet of the vast majority of oldies nigts up and down the country. Two are three I can't for the life of me imagine why a DJ would feature them as one of his top spins. Don't get me wrong some fabulous record s in the list as well but you can only listen to a top 20 for so many years before getting thoroughly bored. Would you listen to the same top 20 or 40 in a night club for 40 years?
