  1. Sad time, thoughts with his family and friends. R.i.P. Baz.
  2. Speak to the Dig Deeper guys, some great footage of his appearance there.
  3. Triple B it's cheap as chips but the deepie on the flip of the MAM release is simply awesome.
  4. Gotta say fabulous selection of records.
  5. I have listened to both shows whilst driving today, superb both of them with some quite pleasant choices. Nice to see the BBC making an effort. The Atlantic Records Story, the two Sam Cooke shows and now this.
  6. Ooh pedantry What if it is pressed with the 3rd, 5th or 25th offspring stamper? Are those only done with the first set of stampers the original? What happens if it was recorded in the US but never released yet picked up by a UK label Some people like to come out with all sorts of b*llocks and confuse an already grossly confused scene for the sake of it You can't do one press to satisfy all countries, they have to be done independently. Therefore each country it is pressed and released in is the first issue of that territory. A re-issue is a later press to satisfy renewed interest and demand in a record. I don't think anyone else in the world considers London issue a re-issue Now please someone close the topic
  7. He is very much into "Northern", a collector and an old Wigan boy. He got in touch with John to say so.
  8. Everyone's idea of collecting and what and how they collect is different though. UK releases have held little interest to me over the years, much preferring to collect on the US release as after all US Soul music is what I collect. Each to their own, I'd ,such prefer the Revolt demo, yes I'd love to find one of these London Issues but it would be sold PDQ to fund more of what interested me.
  9. Look forward to listening. Great interview with Richard Brooks last week too. Thanks for the music this past year Mick, Seasons Greetings.
  10. Re-issue my arse. It is a UK issue, (albeit one that was withdrawn) just like Revilot is a US issue.
  11. I can understand that if it was eBay but there is no advantage with JM as auction gets extended and those you may have beaten on eBay would have time to rebid.
  12. Something we do agree on.
  13. The 1st, 2nd, 5th........20th time maybe, but over thirty years of constant hammer? They say familiarity breeds contempt and this is a classic example. Besides it isn't in the same league as Darrell Banks.
  14. Given the interest this has generated I would imagine any serious bidders would have got their bids in rather than take a chance on the final seconds.
  15. It was pobably all the people on topics like this viewing the auction and constantly refreshing their web page that caused any crash.
  16. What was covered up as The Dream Merchants, you lost me lol
  17. I have it down as a Pat Brady spin at Stafford, covered up as Walter & Admerations. I know others say it was Pat as well.
  18. It was played at Stafford, covered up by Butch in the upstairs room, I have Butch's playlist for the last night of Stafford in which he played it, so that is one night at least. The flip was played at Wigan apparently by Pat Brady.
  19. Guy played Paradox at Stafford covered up. Dunno about being played at Casino.
  20. Happy christmas and all the best for 2015 to one and all.
  21. As Dave said one of the greats.
  22. Chalky replied to a post in a topic in All About the SOUL
Cheers for that will have a listen shortly. there is another program celebrating Sam Cooke on iplayer, "(Don't Fight it) Feel it, The Sam Cooke Story".
  23. No it isn't all about who played it where or when. You may have been about a long time, you were also pretty inactive for some time too on the nighter scene and the club scene, especially up north, you missed a lot as did Phil. Going by the time scale you and Phil were spouting off about, I said it was already known and had plays before 4/5 years ago.
