  1. Depends which take you have. Piano intro fairly cheap, piano with strings fair bit more expensive.
  2. f*ck knows where that came from....must be magic?
  3. I'd like to see something along these lines, maybe top 25 though, a one hour spot more or less.
  4. It happens especially with some because they bring their mates along as well, they won't tell you that though. No one should get a free ride simply to boost attendances and profit. Merit and the ability to entertain should be the only factors that get someone a booking and if they can bring something else to the table even better.
  5. There is another quote, "Those who are unaware of history are destined to repeat it."
  6. I don't understand why it is deemed necessary to get youngsters DJing to make tem feel involved, wanted, loved or whatever it is that is wanted. They go to venues for the music and to dance don't they, or look through sales and generally be part of the night. Myself and most like me had to start at the bottom when we were youngsters, we had to show we we willing and we were also up against some formidable incumbents behind the decks at the time. I progressed from local soul nights to soul nights further afield as both my knowledge and collection grew, nighters took a long time to get a booking at, nothing was handed to me on a plate, i had to work at it. But if I had never Dj'ed or if I never Dj again it wouldn't bother me as that isn't what I am in this for.
  7. And Quinton rather naughtily licensed it to Chris king when he didn't have the right to.
  8. For one they have to support the venue, they cannot be expected to be handed a set simply because they are young but don't even attend the venue. They must also have something to offer. There is a lot of experience and knowledge put there and that is hard to be replace and shouldn't be pushed to one side just because they might be getting on a bit and someone says we have to support youngsters come what may. You have to have something to bring to the table that isn't already there. Lifeline is looking for younger DJ's for the upcoming nighters, the next two are sorted btw but some of the younger gangs mentioned I'm not sure I've seen them at Lifeline?
  9. Unissued Fame recording.
  10. I've had one for some months, don't have it to hand right now though.
  11. I read it last year (via Kindle) and it is a great read. Great story that needed to be told about Beans who was an huge influence to many.
  12. Pleasure Mick and anytime I can help shout up. Great show by the way, Lee has a great story to tell. Make sure you listen if you haven't already and if you haven't seen the man you need to get out and see him on his up coming tour, he is dynamite.
  13. The video doesn't actually do it justice cause when the band all licked in the whole place just bounced, simply fantastic.
  14. Sound mate, there's a few videos of his appearance at Leeds same tour o my youtube page........ Could Have Been was simply awesome....
  15. Eddie also appeared at the Yarmouth Weekenders.
  16. I've an early start so will only catch the first hour. Will catch up with the rest via podcast. Great artist, one of the best I've seen live.
  17. I'm Cumun Home? Original vinyl boots styrene and colours wrong.
  18. I not sure why bootlegs ever came into this topic as it is a totally different issue. Royalties go to whoever owns the rights and to the composer.....so if a record is booted someone is missing out.
  19. I would think just about every artist connected with this scene has received the credit that is due. I would imagine those records that are covered up they are so obscure that credit would probably never get to the artist concerned today. As for royalties, I doubt many artists bank balance is going to suffer because of a record covered up and I doubt unless the artist wrote and owns the masters then he will get nothing from any sale of a reissue. If some are so concerned about artists and their royalties then they should maybe get stuck into ebay and do something about the bootleggers who blatantly advertise their illegal wares.
  20. It's a 1970's Monarch delta number on the boot though.
