  1. dunno why you didn't hear it ten years ago, I heard it many a time in the east mids when I lived there, one of the top 500.
  2. A soul pack record does't necessarily make it a common record. John said he would use records for soul packs when he needed money. He might have a box of 25 of a particular record, he might have a 100 but they were used regardless. Very few might have turned up since so in essence some so called soul pack records might just be pretty rare and not as common as the term suggests.
  3. Mal is right it is out there, the support for them isn't, even from them who constantly claim they want an upfront night sick of oldies etc etc.
  4. What are you hearing now at the East Midlands nights now you weren't hearing ten years ago?
  5. Jeanette isn't a new discovery, not even recent, it has been around years and like I said I don't really remember it getting that much attention until into the 90's as it was a pretty common record.
  6. John does it the right way really, go to sotherby's and it is until just one bidder left.
  7. I don't remember Butch spinning it but could be wrong. Don't really remember any particular Dj spinning it as it was a common record, just demand pushed the price up. The other two Wade Flemons tracks were bigger records years ago. Promoters and DJ's alike have to take a lead and introduce newer discoveries, maybe 4 or 5 a set but a really good record will cross over despite the oldies DJ's. Most that seem to have crossed over have been inspite of the oldies DJ's and not because of them, largely because of DJ's like Sam, Mick H and Andy Dyson having an influence all over the country with bookings, even Butch until recently at Kings Hall etc. The oldies DJ by and large won't take a chance until a record turns up and sells for money and is generating a lot of gossip.
  8. Yeah was lazy reply. I know of five copies, all in the UK but could now be four if this was sold abroad. I don't know of any anywhere else, not saying there is though as you can never say for sure what is in collections anywhere in the world.
  9. First class here you are insured up to £28 I think. Anything more and it goes insured if bought from me, simply to protect my interests, what the buyer wants is irrelevant really as far as I am concerned unless I receive written instructions.
  10. Did he give you postage options? First class or second class, insured or not etc? The seller shouldn't really send anything other than insured if worth that amount unless he receives explicit instruction from the buyer.
  11. The guy who posted the photos in the recent topic has said it is that copy.
  12. As far as I'm aware Ady Pountain the first with this at Yate and into Stafford.
  13. I know of 5 here, four if this went abroad.
  14. To some though it is far better than pleasant. I'm not saying it is worth 9k but to someone it clearly is. It is extremely rare as well.
  15. I want one of these LP's if anyone can help.
  16. Ady Pountain.
  17. Someone just paid 450 quid for a cracked copy of Bill Bush. It was a proper crack repaired with glue. It was also warped and off centre but was repaired. Why on earth would someone pay that kind of money for a record that is basically f*cked? It is a lot to shell out hoping for a better copy. Madness.
  18. The rare one on LaSalle, Lynn Terry? Glad it has stayed so rare, poor record.
  19. Thats her Knocker, cheers. See you at the winding wheel over Christmas if you are going.
  20. err check out the five posts prior to yours
  21. I agree the completely comedy buy. I'd don't rate it that much more for a good un as there are plenty about in collections.
  22. This will soon be as much as one in decent nick..... https://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=251399232914&item=251399232914&lgeo=1&vectorid=229466

  25. I don't know how far they are down the line, I've not asked for a while. Maybe one of them will read this, if not I will ask Andy.
