  1. Basically this topic is about issues you don't see very often, not issues that doesn't exist, is that correct? I don't think I've heard or read of one that doesn't exist yet unless I missed the post?
  2. and add on packaging.....
  3. Don't know if anyone is interested (recent price increase etc) but I just priced up sending a standard envelope type record mailer with two pieces of card and it is £8.80 to Europe Internationally Signed for. First class £3.50. Makes it expensive for a cheapie now.
  4. As always I look forward to listening.

  6. I can't see one for Gino but here's the ones on the website... https://www.smoothradio.co.uk/music/smooth-radio-70s/soul-connection/soul-connections-interviews/df9a2
  7. Sure Flynny started this on the old RSF Forum.
  8. Guy Hennigan got the first two copies in the mid 80's off the label owner.
  9. There is a couple of videos showing the whole process on YouTube, one with Ron Murphy and he shows what the they do with the acetates etc, electroplating and making the stampers.
  10. Not you, did I quote you? No didn't think so. I think most of us know the difference between an acetate and a carver, besides none of us are talking about carvers just you  again i think we all know they aren't a promo or a demo disc. Acetates are for reference, to hear how a take sounds, they might not have been intended to be used for 30 plus years but many have been and still are being used, proper authentic metal acetates.
  11. It'll take a few paper rounds to pay for the lot. Some expensive records in there, few unissued Spencer Wiggins, Melba Moore and Originals. Spencer and Melba are both on a Kent release though, tenner or so.
  12. I think you'll need a good kettle Rod Good luck with the venture and i'll pop on when/if I'm in Stockport.
  13. Many have original 60's acetates that have been played and played and played and they are still fine, including top DJs who have played the acetates on all kinds of set ups. If one gets ruined then there must be something seriously wrong with the set up.its. Complete fallacy that they are useless after a few plays.
  14. Sad sad news. He's suffered of late but hopefully he's at peace now. R.I.P. Salmon
  15. Tha doin o'reight lad Summat to help thee along.... https://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~maureenmitchell/yorkshire/dialect_words.htm
  16. With you there pal. I guess Russ (talking the good old days for a second) misses the nights when those that moved the scene forward were the mainstream. I'd like to hear Butch more over here, given the freedom to totally do his thing. Ady Pountain is another that I always love to hear. Now he is one who puts quality first and foremost.
  17. Think there was another cd with the one you bought Mark, the top one. I've the 5 cd set one, I didn't get a second 5 set one to go with it though. I know of another 5 setter but not from same seller. There's a three set one as well. But by and large there is very little in any of them unknown, all the big tunes from Stafford.
  18. It doesn't happen mainstream thought does it Jordi these days, it is by and large frowned upon outside of specialist venues where those in attendance are in the minority.
  19. Eh up Len. Thar means "you" up t'north Just to clarify I wasn't being rude, I was simply expressing an opinion about DJ's and what I've liked to hear since I was a young un on this scene and carried forward to this day. Neither did I quote you, I made the comment in post three so why Nev had to wait for three pages to pick up on it and say I took the topic downhill after just two replies is beyond me, maybe he has other reasons aside from this topic? Yes I get to the point and don't speak with a fork tongue, as you say I tell it like it is. Maybe if others did the same things would be a lot different and for the better instead of cryptic posts. Anyone who knows me knows I am not rude. Anyway I've enjoyed he topic, some top lads mentioned, many who did make a difference and I can certainly understand Russ' and others wanting a taste of better days when the scene is so oldies orientated these days with very little imagination except in venues where those that attend are definitely in the minority. Come the revolution we might get back to those kind of days when Dj's had imagination and a record was played because of its quality not its price tag. Oh and Nev is from further north than me
  20. Italy one s a boot I presume.....
  21. I doubt many that like George Lemons think he is the world's greatest singer either, I certainly don't. To many Wayne Cochran is sh*t and a far worse record than George Lemons, each to their own as they say.
  22. I certainly didn't make comment on the good old days. I am referring to who I listen to today, or who I like to listen to today. If you lost interest read something else, you took it further down hill posting the Kylie sh*t you posted.
  23. I usually enjoy them Benji, been subscribed since the first few. Not all records in anybody's podcast is to my taste but I like to listen to how people put together the sets/podcasts, how they follow certain records with the next etc.
