  1. I have one but won't be home till the weekend, how much is soulmine's?
  2. It shouldn't cost any more than five or ten quid, that's what it initially cost and no reason why it should cost anymore now.
  3. Stafford 27th May, 19th August and 8th September. Gary, Keb Darge, Steve Smith, Chris King briefly, George Sharp, Robin and Pat. https://www.mixcloud.com/Chalkster/stafford-top-of-the-world-27th-may-10th-august-8th-september/
  4. and another upload this time from 16th & 29th September 1984. Dj's on this recording are Guy Hennigan, Adam, Rob Smith and Dave "Dim" Lawton or his "His Imperial Dimness" from Cannock. Again many thanks to Mark Hanson for supplying the tape. https://www.mixcloud.com/Chalkster/stafford-top-of-the-world-16th-29th-september-1984/ Look out for another later today as well.
  5. Walter & Sisters How Long on Studio Ten the second track Peter.
  6. Covers33 do ten inch sleeves.
  7. Just trying to work out what they are Peter, the brain refuses to work after Skeggy. Pat DJing I think, mecca classic he says it is I think?
  8. If you want some underplayed records look through this lot.... There will be plenty of good dancers unknown to the dance-floor today simply because of the DJ's today all chasing and playing the same records.
  9. Another tape from May 1985 courtesy of Mark Hanson. https://www.mixcloud.com/Chalkster/stafford-top-of-the-world-all-nighter-may-1985/
  10. Chalky posted a gallery image in Soul Flyers
  11. Congratulations Bob on reaching 11 years. Keep up the great work.
  12. Here's scans of the pages relating to Bernard Smith in the first two Ol Virginia Soul cd's. I can do the rest of CD 1 at the weekend if you still require it.
  13. Rob Moss will tell you. He did an article on here telling the story of The Tempos. https://www.soul-source.co.uk/articles/soul-articles/the-tempos-story-by-rob-moss-r2058
  14. Will sort for the weekend for you If not sorted before. Might get chance later on.
  15. There are a few about, more than a few. There was a small batch of the them for a start from Benny himself, I was told they all had water damaged labels.
  16. No wonder sellers are deserting ebay. I would have thought under trades description act the item has to be returned as bought?
  17. You are probably not far off mate, maybe even less but demand seems to be adding another ton to the value.
  18. I have all the Detroit City Limits plus the Detroit Discography. Don't have any Midnight Express so if anyone got any the wish to sell?
  19. People are buying but like you not on eBay. Too many fees with eBay and PayPal and too many crooks and chancers.
  20. Bi of a bargain compared to what some copies have one for lately. Still all it's worth in reality, just demand pushing the price.
  21. That post is over two years old and way out on the prices today. You will be lucky to get either for less than £100 never mind in dollars. The above post should be the case though as it isn't that rare, plenty of copies have been on the market and continue to come up for sale.
  22. It could quite easily be someone who knows full well what they have taken and now have one of the best collections around. Hopefully it is some dimwit townie who won't have a clue what he has got.
  23. Gutted for Craig, hope he gets them back.
  24. I don't think there is anything wrong with voicing an opinion, on the scene, then or now, as long as you are involved and can back up your argument with reasoning and fact. We can all pass comment on the quality of a record, or lack of, that is subjective and something we can all involve ourselves in by simply having a listen. But too many have a pop at things, particularly an era, then or now, that they were not or are not involved with. Whatever you think of fanzines, they are what was happening, a viewpoint of someone who was there and of someone who cared enough to put pen to paper, be that Pete Lawson, Jock, Derek Pearson, Dave Rimmer, Pete Smith, Steve G, Rod Dearlove or anyone else who gave up their free time to produce a fanzine for others to read. they document the scene at that particular time, more often than to it was our youth and probably our best time on the scene depending on which fanzine you remember best. I will have a scour in the garage and see what I can do next flor you, might do a couple of he early Shades of Soul. Quite a few SOS though I put a spiral binder on within a plastic cover so might prove tricky to do those.
  25. That maybe so but I prefer to base my prices on actual dealer to collector sales rather than an auction were it is very easy to get carried away if you want a record so bad.
