Unfortunately Darrow Fletcher was turned away at Chicago O’Hare airport on Tuesday night because his passport was too scruffy. It’s a new one on me, all the information was readable because he had scanned that and sent it over and we had got him his work visa through that information: that was not good enough for the airline people though. He spent the whole of Wednesday in the passport centre and they issued it at the end of the day, by which time he was too late to make his standby flight. When he got to the airport they said he had missed today’s flight as well but could fly on Thursday evening, which of course gets him here on Friday morning, which means he can fulfil his appearances in Scotland and Yorkshire, but will be too late for the 100 Club tonight. However we have been able to postpone it by a week, as the club is free on Thursday 8th November at the same 8pm-2am times. I apologise about the lateness of this postponement but we were hoping right up to midnight last night that he would make the plane (all this has just happened of course). This morning has been spent rearranging the event and now notifying everybody personally. If you have bought tickets and cannot make next Thursday, we will send out a full refund, just let me know by email. If some friends can now come we will have a few extra tickets so they can purchase those over the next couple of days. If you were on the guest list and now cannot make it please let us know about that too. I am particularly happy to have been able to rearrange the show for Darrow who was nearly in tears at the thought of letting down his fans and missing out on what will be a terrific night. Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience caused and hopefully we can share a drink in celebration next Thursday. Ady PS If anyone is stuck in London tonight looking for soul music, I'll be heading to the Majestic soul night which is free and plays a wonderful across the board mainly modern with quite a few 60s soul set. It is probably safe to say that the company that made the Nashville Matrix metal blanks was Matrix of Nashville and it was a small plating company opposite URP. I've done loads of searches and nothing else shows up. Just waiting for a couple of replies to emails as well which might confirm or throw something else up.

Just had a butchers, supposed to be opposite URP. Can't see what the name is of the factory next to the vacant lot on the iPad either. I have emailed URP to see what light they can shed on this.

The Matrix of Nashville, plating and polishing company might no longer be in existence Seb, I didn't follow e google search up as dont have the time. They could be old searches or entries etc.

No matter how much feedback you have I don't think you should be able to spend or draw money from any sale until feedback is received and both parties say and mark the transaction as complete. Anyway it will be interesting to see if this sells or if she has screwed the auction up by increasing the start price.

On the same street (Chestnut) as URP is a plating and polishing company called Matrix Of Nashville, coincidence? Might be worth looking them up and dropping them an email.

I asked George who owns NRP what he knew of Nashville Matrix, he said Nashville Phono Matrix Was A Plating Company Only Got My Start In The Biz There In 1966. They Did Plates For Southern Plastics, Archer And Many Others. When United Was Formed In 1972 They Started There Own Plating Shop.

Maye if she'd told everyone the records and her history she might have better results. Feedback does count for a lot these days especially when something is going to cost a fair bit of money.

Whose record it was and who he was friendly with is irrelevant. Many records on this scene have come from a group member or an artists or friend of the an artist or group. I don't dispute who she is or even suggest she is a dodgy dealer just that by upping the price over the course of the auction is a bit out of order really. If she'd started cheap it would probably fetch more than she wants but with a silly price to start with simply puts bidders off as history has proved countless times. If it was in my price range I'd still have no interest in it personally as its just an average record IMHO.

Why defend her Nev, normally you would pick up on stuff like this and Lucky Davis and highlight it. It's plain greed. A high start price is no different to a reserve IMO. Stick a decent start price on it and let it find its own value. It's not as though she laid $1000's out, it cost her nothing.

You are wasting your time really with popsike. As far as I'm are there's little or no demand for the record and therefore probably little history as well. There could have been countless copies slipped through ebay. Not sure what the minimum sale is popsike use now?

why do people take popsike as gospel? there are loads and loads of sales, none sales etc that go or have gone through ebay that don't make it onto popsike.
