  1. I would presume the yellow label copies came after once the record picked up distribution although not much later? Nice to see a good cheapie getting talked about. I used to play it out a bit maybe 10 or 12 years ago but it never worked.

I still have it but I've not played it since I got it probably.

think that came about by accident as the tape player was playing fast.

We discussed this not too long ago. Basically Rob Klein and I think Tom Dieperro wer compiling the Motown from the Vaults LP series. One LP released but the project then canned. Robb taped many of the tracks they were going through. Rod Shard when visiting Robb heard the tape and a copy duly found its way to the UK where Dave Withers had some acetates cut and began playing Suspicion and others (see my podcasts for details :-) ) at the beginning of Stafford. Richard Searling was given Tear From A Woman's Eye and Angel Doll by the Tempts and Lonely LOver, Marvin Gaye. Suspicion on the original Jobette acetate later fond its wqay out of Motown and then over here, but although I'm not 100% sure it could have been the slower take. There is a scan on here and Robb K did I think sy it wasn't the acetate he saw? Other than CD, it has never had a legit vinyl release.
  5. I've had a few moans about this topic taking ages to load. I know Dave will be starting a new one pretty soon but in the mean time it would help if you deleted the youtube clip in the quote or maybe when replying to a post then maybe just quote the record by name in a "quick reply" and do not quote the original post
  6. That's John Pugh (purist). John Poole is on here tough, cant remember user name for the minute.
  7. To Ian the topic starter, judging by the places you visit then either will satisfy what gou want, both main rooms are oldies by and large, nothing new. Might be an idea to visit the respective websites for more details. Now I can't see any good coming from this topic, insults from one side already so closing the topic. Both events have full details in the event section or should have. If the promoters could keep out and both grow up then will reopen.
  8. insulting comment unapproved.
  9. I've played it time or two never really worked though. Got plays in mid 80's as well. Don't recall seeing an issue either.
  10. That's the vocal, instrumental called Tenderizer.
  11. Didn't a batch of yellow label copies turn not so long ago? Thought they ended up selling for around what the black ones were?
  12. This is exactly what we are trying to avoid, members refraining from sharing information. Watermarking sounds like a good idea for scans and pictures.
  13. Not sure but he might have sold it (or one) to Sam. Tough record on Shell.
  14. Can we drop what happened at Stoke on Saturday night and what got played. If you want to discuss that or any other event from Saturday then do so in the appropriate forum. This isn't a lookback forum or a forum for promoting your all-nighter so again leave that for the appropriate forum please.
  15. it's on a look-a-like press from Outta Sight. From their web site...
  16. Check your dates, Philadelphians, presume you mean the Trannels, uncovered long before 98. Kings Hall is a great venue, fantastic at what it does and a superb atmosphere. Other venues just as good at what they do, all provide something different in a diverse scene. Don't know why everyone has to claim this or that about a particular night. I'm sure most who do the all-nighters have been to most venues and know full well what is on offer and rarely listen to the hype and bullish*t spouted by some on here, I rarely even look at a flyer these days, I know exactly what I'm going to get at any particular venue and I can say the same whenever I see a DJ's name, I know what he has to offer. Like I said just get on with it and enjoy it while you can.
  17. Why does there always have to be a best? all different in one way or another and all appeal to different people for different reasons, for f*cks sake just go where you wanna go and enjoy it. Like set of big kids, my dad's bigger than yours.

think they've some way to go...AC Reed release is Goldmine Sevens. Some task though.
  19. demo would seem to be far more common but dunno if Id shell out a lot more for an issue when a demo can probably be had that bit cheaper.
  20. Wouldn't have thought there was much in it price wise between demo and issue.

  25. I don't think members have a problem with their work being shared. The problem lies with those sharing if that is the right word and taking the credit. This isnt an order rather than a request for others to show a bit of respect and give credit where credit is due.
